The 2026 Anniversary version of Burning Crusade is not a straight copy of the 2021 Classic release. Blizzard introduced significant quality-of-life changes that make this the most accessible TBC ever.
Guild Banks are available from Phase 1 instead of being added later. All raid attunements and heroic dungeon keys are account-wide, so alts benefit immediately. Arena ratings start at 1,500 for every character instead of zero, with a weekly gold reset option if you drop below. Edit Mode UI is available for interface customization. Heroism and Bloodlust reset automatically when boss encounters end, removing the need for wipe resets.
These changes lower the barrier to entry significantly, but the core TBC experience — challenging heroics, complex raid mechanics, and competitive arena — remains intact.
TBC Phase Timeline and Raid Schedule
Phase 1 is live now with Karazhan (10-man), Gruul's Lair (25-man), and Magtheridon's Lair (25-man). Arena Season 1 launched February 17, 2026.
Phase 2 arrives in Spring 2026 with Serpentshrine Cavern, The Eye (Tempest Keep), plus Ogri'la and Sha'tari Skyguard daily quest hubs. This is traditionally where TBC difficulty ramps up considerably — Lady Vashj and Kael'thas Sunstrider are among the hardest bosses in Classic WoW history.
