WoW Classic addons
Classic Era · Season of Discovery · Hardcore · Anniversary
Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Hardcore and the Anniversary realms all run the same addon ecosystem, with one important exception: Hardcore adds a category of its own, because a death there is permanent.
WoW Forever addons

Forever runs the modern addon API rather than Classic’s, so a Classic Era build does not simply carry over. Every confirmed Forever file with its version, plus the beta bug that wipes your settings on reload.
Are addons allowed?
Yes. Addons use Blizzard's own interface API and are permitted on every version of WoW. What is not permitted is automation — anything that plays for you, moves your character, or acts without your input, regardless of how it is packaged.
A levelling guide that tells you where to walk is fine. One that walks for you is a bannable category.
