Free for everyone since Wednesday 21 October 2026, 11:00 a.m. PDT (18:00 UTC). Founder’s Access for Orange Mushroom and Zakum package owners opened on 6 October at the same time of day, and that progress carried over.

Nexon’s notices name one world, Windia, expanded to 40 channels with the Grand Launch maintenance (v1.0.0).
Windows and macOS, through the Nexon Launcher (standalone client) or Steam (bundled with the MapleStory listing). Xbox and PlayStation controllers are supported.

Four Explorer jobs, Warrior, Magician, Bowman and Thief: 1st job at level 10, 2nd job at level 30, ten 2nd jobs in all. The maximum level is 100. There is no Pirate and no 3rd job yet.
Maple Island and Victoria Island, with the new Excavation Site in Perion. Forgotten Hollow opens in November; Orbis, El Nath and the rest of Ossyria have no date.

Four Explorer classes
Classes and 2nd jobs
Warrior
Main stat: STR, with DEX for weapon requirements.
Magician
Main stat: INT, with LUK for wand and staff requirements.
- Fire/Poison Wizard: Fire Arrow and Poison Breath: damage over time and the Meditation party buff.
- Ice/Lightning Wizard: Thunder Bolt and Cold Beam: the beginner-friendly area mage.
- Cleric: Heal, Bless and Holy Arrow: the safest and most wanted party job.
Bowman
Main stat: DEX, with STR for bow and crossbow requirements.
- Hunter: Bow and Arrow Bomb: long-range area damage with stuns.
- Crossbowman: Crossbow and Iron Arrow: piercing shots through lines of monsters.

Classic, GMS and Reboot
How Classic World differs from modern MapleStory
- Modern MapleStory (GMS, with Heroic worlds such as Kronos and Hyperion, formerly Reboot) has 50+ classes and a level cap of 300; Classic World has four Explorer jobs up to level 100.
- Classic progression is slow on purpose: you place AP and SP by hand, dying costs EXP, and there is no 3rd job yet.
- New Classic-only systems: Crafting, Citizenship, Housing and the Forgotten Hollow area (November).
- Same Nexon account, separate characters and economy; only NX is shared and there is no MVP.

What is coming to Classic World
- 28 October 2026Halloween events: Malady’s Halloween Candies (level 10+, hidden mission for the Pumpkin Basket sword) and Orange Slimes in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City and Perion, until 18 November.
- 6 November 2026GM event: coconut harvest at Lith Harbor (00:00–02:00 UTC).
- 18 November 2026Forgotten Hollow opens: monsters level 39–59 and the field boss Rotten Mushmom. Nexon’s notes say “November”; the 18th was given at Fest.
- Mid-November 2026Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake party quest (level 11+) for Thanksgiving, into early December.
- 9 December 2026Guilds (created in Lith Harbor, with guild marks; guild houses later), a new Forgotten Hollow party quest for level 41+, and Happyville with Christmas events.

When did MapleStory Classic World come out?
MapleStory Classic World launched for free on 21 October 2026 at 11:00 a.m. PDT (18:00 UTC) on Windows and Mac, after Founder’s Access opened on 6 October. It is Nexon’s official old-school MapleStory: one world, Windia, four Explorer classes up to 2nd job and a level cap of 100.
Is MapleStory Classic World free?
Yes. Since the Grand Launch on 21 October 2026 anyone can play with a Nexon account. There is a Cash Shop (NX and Leaf Points) and no subscription or MVP status.
What is MapleStory Classic World?
Nexon’s own take on pre-Big Bang MapleStory, run next to modern MapleStory: slow levelling, manual stats, Maple Island and Victoria Island, the four Explorer jobs, plus new systems such as Crafting, Citizenship and Housing. Nexon says it is not a 1:1 recreation.
Is Classic World a separate game from MapleStory?
It is a separate client and economy on the same Nexon account. Only the NX balance is shared; characters, names and items are not. On Steam it is installed through the MapleStory listing.
What is the level cap in MapleStory Classic?
Level 100. The highest job is 2nd job, taken at level 30; 3rd job has no release date, with a test server planned for early 2027.
Are Pirates in MapleStory Classic World?
No. The Grand Launch has four jobs: Warrior, Magician, Bowman and Thief. Nexon has not announced Pirates.
What server is MapleStory Classic on?
