Fire Arrow and Poison Breath: damage over time and the Meditation party buff. Magician 2nd job at level 30; weapon, key skills, the stat build and SP order players use, strengths and weaknesses.

  • Rated B for single-target damage in a community level-70 benchmark.
  • Poison does nothing to poison-immune monsters such as Jr. Balrog.
Solo

Good on crowded maps of normal monsters; weaker on single tough targets.

Party

Meditation and area damage make it a useful party mage.

Levels 10–30: Magician build

INT main; LUK only for wand reqs (Lv20 10, Lv25 15, Lv30 20). SP: Energy Bolt 20 first, Magic Guard, Improved MP Recovery, then Magic Armor 20 and Max MP Increase 15 (default armor-first)

Levels 30–100: stats and SP order

INT main, LUK for gear: Lv31-40 +3 INT/+2 LUK, Lv41-63 +4/+1, Lv64+ all INT -> ~299 INT/63 LUK base at Lv70. SP: Teleport 1 -> Fire Arrow 30 (Lv40) -> Poison Breath 30 (Lv50) -> MP Eater 3 -> Meditation 20 -> MP Eater/Teleport

  • Magician MP Recovery from items raised from +5–20% to +10–25% (v1.0.0, 21 October).
  • Fixed in v1.0.0: Poison Breath used MP twice on hit, and dealt more than 1 damage to poison-immune monsters.

Level 1 to 30

Getting to 2nd job

  1. Finish the Maple Island quests (about level 8), then take the boat to Victoria Island.
  2. At level 10 talk to Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia for 1st job (Magician). Put AP into INT.
  3. Train through the 20s; Kerning PQ opens at 21.
  4. At level 30 return to Grendel the Really Old, pass the instructor test (30 Dark Marbles for The Proof of a Hero, per community guides) and choose Fire/Poison Wizard. Keep a free Use slot.
