Deadlock in four facts
The game
Deadlock is Valve’s 6v6 hero shooter with MOBA rules: three lanes of troopers, objectives to push, souls to spend in a shop of items, and heroes who level up their four abilities. It runs on Windows through Steam.
Access: invite only
The Steam page lists no price and no release date ("To be announced"). Valve calls it a game in early development with temporary art, and says access is limited to friend invites from people who already play.
Current update: City Never Sleeps
Released on 29 September 2026: a visual overhaul of the map, new HUD and accessibility options, and six new heroes released one by one by player vote. Nurse Harrow and Violet are still to come.

Ranked
Ranked arrived on 30 July 2026 with a ladder from Initiate to Eternus. The first season now ends on 5 November 2026, and the next one starts straight after.

Is Deadlock out?
Not as a released game. On 15 October 2026 the Steam page shows no price and a release date of "To be announced", and Valve describes Deadlock as a game in early development. People play it through friend invites from existing players.
How do you get into Deadlock?
Valve says access is limited to friend invites from current playtesters. Deadlock then sits in that Steam library like any other game, which is why played Deadlock accounts are sold as whole Steam accounts.
How many heroes does Deadlock have?
42 heroes are playable in the game files of 14 October 2026. The newest are Rat King, Baba, Solomon, Deadman Danny, all from the City Never Sleeps set; Nurse Harrow and Violet are announced but not playable yet.
What is the latest Deadlock update?
City Never Sleeps, released on 29 September 2026. Since then Valve has released a new hero every few days; the most recent post is "Deadman Danny joins" on 13 October 2026.
Is it safe to buy a Deadlock account?
The Steam Subscriber Agreement says a Steam account is personal and may not be sold or transferred, so a bought account always carries the risk that Valve restricts it. The risk a seller can remove is the previous owner taking the account back: METAMMO accounts are checked by hand and carry a lifetime warranty against recovery. Bans are not covered.
