Warframe in four facts
The game
Digital Extremes’ free-to-play co-op shooter, released on PC on 25 March 2013, then on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS (February 2024), Android (February 2026) and Switch 2 (March 2026). Every Warframe, weapon and non-cosmetic item can be earned in play.
Latest update
Update 44, Iceblade of Narin (23 September 2026), added the Warframe Narin, the six-player mode The Icebind, Riven Splicing and a Banshee rework. Citrine Prime Access started the same day.

Cross save
Cross Platform Save reached all players in January 2024. PC, PlayStation and Xbox share one Platinum wallet; Switch Platinum stays on Switch. Linking is permanent, and the one-time merge of separate accounts closed on 17 January 2025.

Mastery cap
MR30 is the last regular rank; ranks above it are Legendary Ranks. The wiki gives LR6 as the current maximum for an account without Founders items.

What sets a Warframe account’s price

Mastery Rank and Legendary rank
The account level, raised by levelling Warframes, weapons and companions. MR also sets how many trades a day the account can make, so a high MR is both progress and trading capacity.

Founders items
Excalibur Prime, Skana Prime and Lato Prime came only with the 2012 to 2013 Founders packs. They will not be sold again and cannot be traded, so they exist only on the original accounts.

Prime collection and vaulted Primes
Owned Prime Warframes and weapons, especially vaulted ones. Retired Primes return only through Prime Resurgence, Varzia’s rotating stock, so a full collection saves months of relic farming.

Platinum
The premium currency, tradeable between players. Starter and giveaway Platinum is personal and cannot be traded. Listings quote the balance.

Endgame progress
Helminth unlocked with abilities fed, Archon Shards (which cannot be traded), Incarnon weapons, Steel Path, maxed Arcanes and Rivens: progress a new owner skips.

Warframe FAQ
What is the max Mastery Rank in Warframe?
MR30 is the last regular rank; ranks above it are Legendary Ranks. The wiki gives Legendary 6 as the current maximum for an account without Founders items.
Can I still get Excalibur Prime?
No. Excalibur Prime came with the Hunter, Master and Grand Master Founders packs sold from December 2012 to November 2013, and Digital Extremes says Founders bonuses will not be available again. Founders items cannot be traded, so they only exist on the original accounts.
Does Warframe have cross save?
Yes, since late 2023 for Founders and January 2024 for everyone. PC, PlayStation and Xbox share Platinum; Switch Platinum stays on Switch. Linking is permanent, and the one-time merge of separate accounts ended on 17 January 2025.
Why is there no Warframe price index?
Our other hubs publish median asking prices from public listings. Warframe accounts are rarely listed: on 11 October 2026 we counted about 70 listings with a stated Mastery Rank over 90 days, too few for honest medians. We will add an index when the sample is large enough.
Is it safe to buy a Warframe account?
Digital Extremes’ Terms of Use say accounts are personal, cannot be transferred, and may not be bought, sold, gifted or traded, and DE can suspend or terminate an account at any time. Any bought account carries that risk. The risk a seller can remove is the previous owner taking it back: METAMMO accounts are checked by hand and carry a lifetime warranty against recovery (refund or replacement). Bans are not covered.
