Mastery, Primes and Founders
The words in a Warframe listing, explained, with a note on whether each can be traded or bought again. What cannot be traded (Founders items, Archon Shards, Catalysts, most Ephemeras) only ever comes with an account. Community
Mastery Rank and Legendary ranks
The account level, raised by levelling Warframes, weapons and other gear. Ranks above MR30 are Legendary Ranks; the wiki gives LR6 as the current cap without Founders items. MR also limits trading: an account can make as many trades a day as its MR (Founders get two more).

Packs sold from 19 December 2012 to 1 November 2013: Disciple, Hunter, Master and Grand Master. Excalibur Prime came with Hunter and above, Skana Prime with Master and above, Lato Prime with Grand Master only. The bonuses will not be available again, and Founders items cannot be traded.

Tenth-anniversary cosmetic packs for Mag and Frost (Risen, Celestial and Zenith collections), sold from August 2023. The Zenith collection will never be sold again. Later Heirloom skins, such as Rhino’s from February 2025, are still sold for Platinum, so check which one a listing means.

Prime Warframes, the Vault and Resurgence
When a Prime is vaulted, the Void Relics that drop its parts stop dropping; relics already owned still work and can be traded. The Prime Vault closed for good on 14 September 2022, and retired Primes now return through Prime Resurgence: Varzia’s stock rotates every 28 days, for Aya earned in play or Regal Aya bought with money.

The premium currency, bought with money or traded between players. Starter Platinum and giveaway winnings are personal and cannot be traded or gifted. With cross save, PC, PlayStation and Xbox share one wallet; Platinum bought on Switch stays on Switch.

Stronger versions of normal mods, mostly sold by Baro Ki’Teer for Ducats and Credits. Trading one costs 1,000,000 Credits in tax, and Daily Tribute Primed mods cannot be traded.
Riven mods
Mods for a single weapon with two to four random stats. Their strength depends on the weapon’s disposition (0.5 to 1.55), and each has its own MR requirement from 8 to 16. A stock of good Rivens is tradeable value on the account.

Tradeable enhancements that trigger on conditions. A Rank 5 (maxed) Arcane takes 21 copies, which is why “R5 Arcanes” in a listing means a lot of farming or Platinum.

A system in the Orbiter that permanently consumes a Warframe to learn one of its abilities, which can then be put on other Warframes. It needs MR8 and Entrati Rank 3, or a Market purchase.

Up to five per Warframe, installed through the Helminth and mainly earned from Archon Hunts. Tauforged shards give 1.5 times the bonus. Shards cannot be traded, so they come only with the account.
Incarnon weapons
An upgrade system that gives weapons an alternate fire mode and extra stats. Genesis Adapters come from The Circuit in the Steel Path, up to two a week.
Steel Path
The harder difficulty, with enemies 100 levels higher and 2.5 times the health and shields. It unlocks after the Star Chart is finished and has its own currency, Steel Essence.
Orokin Catalysts, Reactors and Forma
A Catalyst doubles a weapon’s mod capacity, a Reactor a Warframe’s. Both are permanent and cannot be traded; Forma changes mod polarities.
Ephemeras, Syandanas and Glyphs
Ephemeras are visual effects around the body; many are limited to Prime Access, TennoCon or events, and most cannot be traded. All Prime Syandanas come from Prime Access packs or Prime Gaming. TennoCon glyphs are exclusive. The first Prime Gaming bundle in 2017 gave Frost Prime and the Vistapa Prime Syandana.

Steam account binding (Update 37, October 2024) is optional, needs 2FA, and cannot be undone; Epic binding followed in May 2025. An account created through Steam can be bound to it automatically. Our reading: “Steam unlinked” in a listing means the account was never bound, so the buyer can bind their own.

Linking accounts across platforms is permanent: after linking only the Primary Account’s progress and inventory are used. Real-money purchases bought on Steam stay on PC. The one-time merge ended on 17 January 2025; linking itself remains available.

Mastery and collectibles FAQ
What is Legendary rank in Warframe?
The ranks after MR30. Legendary 1 to Legendary 6 continue the Mastery Rank count; LR6 is the current cap for an account without Founders items.
Are Founders items tradeable?
No. Founders items cannot be traded, and the Founders program ended on 1 November 2013. Excalibur Prime exists only on the accounts that bought a Hunter, Master or Grand Master pack.
What happened to the Prime Vault?
It closed for good on 14 September 2022. Retired Primes now come back through Prime Resurgence, sold by Varzia in a stock that rotates every 28 days.
What cannot be traded onto a Warframe account?
Founders items, Archon Shards, Orokin Catalysts and Reactors, most Ephemeras, Daily Tribute Primed mods and personal Platinum. They come only with the account that earned them.
