TBC Anniversary

Live · Phase 3 (Black Temple, Hyjal) since 27 August 2026

The 2024 Anniversary realms moved on to The Burning Crusade: pre-patch on 13 January 2026, launch on 5 February 2026. Level cap 70, Outland, flying, arenas. Attunements are kept but account-wide — the first character to attune unlocks the raid for every character on the Battle.net account.

Accounts sold: Level 70 characters by gear score and raid tier (Tier 4–6), arena sets and titles, flying, 375 professions, several 70s on one account.

Anniversary Hardcore

Live · stays at level 60 (vanilla)

The Anniversary Hardcore realms (Soulseeker in Europe, Doomhowl in North America) did not move to TBC; they remain vanilla. A character that dies is out of Hardcore for good.

Accounts sold: Living level 60 characters and mid-level characters with professions and mounts — a living character is the product.

Classic Era

Live · all vanilla raids open, final content

Permanent vanilla WoW (patch 1.14) at its final content, Naxxramas included. Era was the destination for anyone who chose to stay at 60 when the Anniversary realms moved to TBC.

Accounts sold: Level 60 characters with Naxxramas (Tier 3) gear, Rank 14 PvP titles and legendaries such as Thunderfury and Atiesh.

Hardcore

Live · original 2023 Hardcore realms

The first official Hardcore realms (Stitches and Nek’Rosh in Europe, Defias Pillager and Skull Rock in North America), vanilla rules, one life.

Accounts sold: A small number of level 60 characters.

Season of Discovery

Live · development ended after Phase 8

The rune-based seasonal version. Blizzard finished developing it after Phase 8 (Scarlet Enclave, April 2025); the realms stay up.

Accounts sold: Level 60 characters with runes and Tier 3 / 3.5 sets — a thin market.

What sets a Classic account’s price

Price index →
  1. 1

    Version and realm

A character exists only on its realm and version: a TBC Anniversary 70 on Spineshatter, a Hardcore 60 on Soulseeker and a Classic Era 60 on Firemaw are different products. Region is fixed too — characters cannot be moved between Europe and North America.

Character Transfer Information and Restrictions (Blizzard support)

  2. 2

    Level and gear score

In TBC Anniversary the cap is level 70. Sellers describe gear with an addon “gear score” (GS); a fresh 70 and a raid-geared 70 are priced far apart.

WoW: Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition Now Live! (Blizzard)

  3. 3

    Raid tier and named items

Tier 4 (Karazhan, Gruul, Magtheridon), Tier 5 (Serpentshrine, Tempest Keep) and Tier 6 (Hyjal, Black Temple), plus single items such as Dragonspine Trophy. In Classic Era, Tier 3 from Naxxramas and the legendaries Thunderfury and Atiesh.

  4. 4

    Attunements

Kept in TBC Anniversary but account-wide: once one character is attuned to a raid, every character on the Battle.net account can enter it. An attuned account saves alts the quest chains.

Attunements will be account-wide in TBC Classic Anniversary Edition (Warcraft Tavern) (community)

  5. 5

    Flying and professions

Flying is learned at 70: Expert riding for 60% flyers and Artisan riding for 280% epic flyers. Professions cap at 375; two maxed gathering or crafting professions are listed as a feature.

  6. 6

    PvP titles

Arena titles such as Gladiator in TBC Anniversary (Season 3 since 1 September 2026), and Rank 14 — High Warlord or Grand Marshal — from the honor system in Classic Era. Era’s system was changed in patch 1.14.4 to fixed weekly honor milestones, so Rank 14 takes at least eight weeks.

  7. 7

    Several characters

Two or three max-level characters on one account, often of different roles, are sold together.

How much each of these moves the price, segment by segment, is on the price index — reference figures from public listings, updated daily.

WoW Classic FAQ

Which versions of WoW Classic are live in 2026?

Five: TBC Anniversary (the 2024 Anniversary realms, moved to The Burning Crusade on 5 February 2026), Anniversary Hardcore (Soulseeker and Doomhowl, still at level 60), Classic Era (permanent vanilla with every raid open), the original Hardcore realms, and Season of Discovery, whose development ended after Phase 8 while its realms stay up. Blizzard’s new WoW Forever launches separately on 4 November 2026.

What phase is TBC Anniversary in?

Phase 3: Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal opened on 27 August 2026, and Arena Season 3 began on 1 September 2026. Phase 1 raids opened on 19 February and Phase 2 (Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep) on 14 May. Zul’Aman and Sunwell Plateau are on Blizzard’s roadmap for “Fall 2026” but not yet dated.

Did the Hardcore realms move to TBC?

No. Blizzard kept the Anniversary Hardcore realms (Soulseeker in Europe, Doomhowl in North America) at vanilla level 60. There are no TBC Hardcore realms.

Are attunements account-wide in TBC Anniversary?

Yes. The first character to complete a raid attunement unlocks that raid for every character on the Battle.net account; heroic dungeon keys work the same way through account-bound keys for alts.

Do I need a subscription to play WoW Classic?

Yes. Blizzard states that TBC Anniversary is included with a World of Warcraft subscription or game time, so a Classic account needs active game time to log in.

Is it safe to buy a WoW Classic account?

Blizzard’s End User License Agreement forbids buying, selling or trading accounts, so a bought account always carries the risk of action against it. What a buyer can control is the other risk — the previous owner taking it back — by getting the Battle.net email and authenticator. METAMMO accounts are checked by hand and carry a lifetime warranty against recovery by a previous owner (refund or replacement); bans are not covered.

What is RestedXP?

A levelling-guide addon made by World of Warcraft speedrunners. It shows step-by-step quest routes in game for Classic, Classic Era, Hardcore and retail; a starter set of routes is free and the full guides are sold separately.
