Before you buy a Warframe account
Six things to check, from the email and two-factor setup to what cross save and Steam binding lock in, taken from Digital Extremes’ own pages and the Warframe Wiki.
Checklist
What to check
- 1
Get the original email
TennoGuard two-factor on PC is email-based, and an email change can only be made while you still have access to the old address; otherwise it goes through support. Without the email, the account is not really yours.
- 2
Check how it logs in on PC
Steam binding cannot be undone, and Epic binding works the same way. An account bound to the seller’s Steam needs that Steam account too; an unbound (standalone) account lets you bind your own.

- 3
Check the platform and cross save state
Cross save linking is permanent, and after linking only the Primary Account’s progress and inventory are used. Platinum is shared between PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but Switch Platinum stays on Switch.

Verify Mastery Rank and items in game
Ask for screenshots or a call: the profile with MR or Legendary rank, the Arsenal and Foundry, the Platinum balance and the daily trade limit, which equals the MR.

Value what cannot be traded
Founders items, Archon Shards, Orokin Catalysts and Reactors and most Ephemeras cannot be traded, so they prove the account’s own history. Rivens, Arcanes and Platinum can be traded, so they can also be traded away before the sale.

Ask what Platinum is personal
Starter and giveaway Platinum cannot be traded. A large balance is only useful to you if it can be spent on what you want.
Red flags
When to walk away
- No access to the original email, or a seller who will “keep it for safety”.
- An account bound to a Steam or Epic account that is not part of the sale.
- Mastery Rank or Founders claims without an in-game profile screenshot.
- Platinum on Switch advertised for a PC buyer.
- Rivens and Arcanes listed in the title but missing from the inventory screenshots.
How we verify and what we promise
Every Warframe account we list is checked by hand: we sign in, compare the Mastery Rank, Prime collection, Platinum and listed items with the title, and note how the account logs in on PC. Delivery is in a private support chat, with help moving the email to yours and setting up two-factor authentication.
Our warranty is lifetime and covers one thing: recovery by a previous owner. If that happens, you get a replacement or a refund. It does not cover bans or suspensions by Digital Extremes. Full terms: warranty.
What Digital Extremes’ terms say
The Terms of Use say the account you create is personal and Digital Extremes does not allow the transfer of accounts; you may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any account, and any attempt is void. Distributing your login can lead to suspension or termination, DE may suspend or terminate an account at any time without a refund, and unused Platinum has no monetary value. We say this plainly because it is the one risk no seller can remove.
What the terms in a listing mean: Mastery and collectibles. The longer read: what makes a Warframe account valuable.
Answers
Buying a Warframe account: FAQ
Is buying a Warframe account allowed?
No. Digital Extremes’ Terms of Use say the account is personal and DE does not allow transferring it, and that you may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any account, with any attempt void. Sharing login details can lead to suspension or termination, and DE can suspend an account at any time. Any bought account carries that risk.
What does “Steam unlinked” mean?
Our reading: the account was never bound to a Steam account through Account Binding, which is optional and cannot be undone. The buyer can then bind it to their own Steam account.
Can I move a bought Warframe account to my console?
Through cross save linking, which is permanent: only the Primary Account’s progress is kept. Platinum is shared between PC, PlayStation and Xbox; purchases made on Steam stay on PC.
How does METAMMO check a Warframe account?
By hand before listing: we sign in, compare the Mastery Rank, Prime Warframes, Platinum and listed items with the title and check how the account logs in. Delivery includes help changing the email and setting up two-factor authentication.
What does the METAMMO warranty cover?
If a previous owner ever recovers the account, the original buyer gets a replacement or a refund, for the life of the account. It does not cover bans or suspensions by Digital Extremes, or losses from sharing your login.
