Short answer: buy a Warframe account only with its original email, because TennoGuard two-factor on PC is email-based and an email change needs access to the old address. Store or marketplace: what is the difference?
On a marketplace you buy from one of many sellers. The platform does not own or check the account; it holds the payment, takes a fee and settles disputes within its cover period. Quality depends on the seller you happen to pick, and the same account is often listed by several resellers at once.
With a direct store there is one seller: the store. It sources the account, checks it by hand and answers for it after the sale. What you give up is third-party escrow, so look at the store's public record before you pay. METAMMO's record is public on G2G, Eldorado and GameBoost.
Why recovery is the main risk with Warframe
Warframe's two-factor authentication on PC sends codes to the account email, and an email change can only be made while you still have access to the old address; otherwise it goes through support. A seller who keeps the email can come back. Account binding matters too: on the community Warframe Wiki, Steam binding is described as permanent, and Epic binding works the same way. An account bound to the seller's Steam needs that Steam account too; an unbound account lets you bind your own.
The publisher risk is separate. Digital Extremes' Terms of Use say the account is personal, DE does not allow the transfer of accounts and you may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any account, with any attempt void. DE may suspend or terminate an account without a refund. No seller can remove that risk.

Every marketplace above holds your payment until delivery, which protects you against a seller who never hands over the login. Their cover then runs for a fixed period, while a recovery by a previous owner can come months later. That gap is why the length of cover matters as much as having cover at all.
Cross save and platforms
Cross save linking is permanent, and after linking only the Primary Account's progress and inventory are used. Platinum is shared between PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but Switch Platinum stays on Switch. If you plan to link a bought account to your console, decide which account will be primary before you do it.
What to check before paying
- The original email. Without it, the account is not really yours.
- How it logs in on PC. Steam-bound, Epic-bound or standalone. A bound account needs that Steam or Epic account in the sale.
- Platform and cross save state. Ask whether it is already linked and which account is primary.
- Mastery Rank and items in game. Ask for the profile with Mastery Rank or Legendary rank, the Arsenal and Foundry, and the Platinum balance.
- What cannot be traded. Founders items, Archon Shards, Orokin Catalysts and Reactors and most Ephemeras cannot be traded, so they prove the account's own history. Rivens, Arcanes and Platinum can be traded away before the sale, so check them on the day.
- Which Platinum is personal. Starter and giveaway Platinum cannot be traded.
Red flags
- No access to the original email, or a seller who will "keep it for safety".
- An account bound to a Steam or Epic account that is not part of the sale.
- Mastery Rank or Founders claims without an in-game profile screenshot.
- Platinum on Switch advertised for a PC buyer.
- A promise that the account cannot be banned.
