Every major Deadlock update since the Shop Rework of May 2025, in plain words, with the hero releases of October 2026 and a link to Valve’s own post for each. Small balance patches are grouped.
Matchmaking split into Standard (unranked, any party) and a new Ranked mode with seasons.
A new badge ladder from Initiate to Eternus, each rank with six subranks. Ranked needs 60 Standard wins and lets you play only heroes with 15 Standard wins.
Ranked is solo or duo, uses 3 hero bans instead of 2 and adds a pre-game area where each player can swap hero once.
Summaries are ours; the full notes are in Valve’s posts and on the official changelog forum. Smaller patches between these dates are left out.
What updates mean for accounts
Balance patches change which heroes are strong, not what an account is worth. What a buyer pays for is the badge, Ranked access with the right heroes unlocked, and a clean Steam account. See the ranks page and the price index.
