Platforms and regions
- Windows and macOS. Nexon Launcher: standalone Classic World client (switch the toggle under MapleStory). Steam: bundled with MapleStory, which must be installed, with your Nexon account linked.
- Global service: one world, Windia, 40 channels since 21 October.
- English, with Spanish and Korean in beta; Xbox and PlayStation controllers supported.
- Separate Classic versions run in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau (Gamania, from 29 July 2026) and China (from 3 August 2026); they are other services with their own accounts.

What happened after launch
- 6 October 2026Founder’s Access opens. 11:00 a.m. PDT for Orange Mushroom and Zakum package owners. Maple Island, Victoria Island, four jobs up to 2nd job, level cap 100, five bosses, Kerning PQ, Crafting and Citizenship.
- 8 October 2026Unscheduled maintenance. Fixed some players not reaching Channels 1–4.
- 15 October 2026Minor patch (3 hours). Korean (Beta) display language.
- 16 October 2026Megaphones need level 15. From the Grand Launch every Megaphone item needs level 15 instead of 10; items already owned keep level 10.
- 17 October 2026MapleStory Fest: Classic World Dev Panel. Nexon showed the post-launch roadmap on its Fest livestream (Twitch). The dated items are listed under “What is coming”.
- 20 October 2026Grand Launch release notes. Housing, Stumpy as the sixth boss, the Excavation Site in Perion, the Lie Detector Test, and a trade restriction for new accounts until 24 hours after a character reaches level 15.
- 21 October 2026Grand Launch, v1.0.0. Free for everyone from 11:00 a.m. PDT after a 5-hour maintenance.
- 22 October 2026Unscheduled maintenance (2 hours). Server optimizations after more players than expected joined at launch.

What is the MapleStory Classic World release date?
MapleStory Classic World released for everyone, free, on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 11:00 a.m. PDT (18:00 UTC). Founder’s Access for package owners started on 6 October 2026 at the same hour, and that progress carried over without a wipe.
What time did MapleStory Classic launch?
At 11:00 a.m. PDT on 21 October 2026: 2:00 p.m. EDT, 18:00 UTC, 8:00 p.m. CEST, and 4:00 a.m. AEST on 22 October. The servers opened after a 5-hour maintenance that started at 6:00 a.m. PDT.
Was there a wipe after Founder’s Access?
No. Founder’s Access ran on the live servers from 6 October and its characters carried into the Grand Launch. The two closed online tests in April and August were wiped.
Is MapleStory Classic on Steam?
Yes, inside the MapleStory listing on Steam: install MapleStory, link your Nexon account, and pick Classic World. On the Nexon Launcher it is a standalone client you switch on with the Classic World toggle.
Is MapleStory Classic on Mac?
Yes. Classic World runs on Windows and macOS through the Nexon Launcher and Steam.
Can I still get Founder’s Access?
No. Founder’s Packages were sold until 14 October 2026 and Founder’s Access ended with the Grand Launch, when the game became free for everyone.
Is MapleStory Classic out in Europe and Australia?
Yes. Global Classic World is played in North America, Europe, Oceania and the other regions of Nexon’s Global service, on the same launch day. Nexon’s Korean, Japanese and SEA services have not announced it.
