Install
Nexon Launcher or Steam
- Nexon Launcher: log in, find MapleStory in your library, switch the MapleStory Classic World toggle and download the standalone client. Modern MapleStory is not needed.
- Steam: install and update MapleStory fully, link your Nexon account to Steam (easiest on Nexon’s website, Account Settings), then start Classic World.
- Only one game, MapleStory or Classic World, can be open at a time.

What are the MapleStory Classic World system requirements?
Nexon has not published separate specs for Classic World; the MapleStory Steam listing it installs through asks for Windows 10 64-bit, a Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz class CPU, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce 9600 GT or Radeon HD 5670 and DirectX 11. On Mac it needs macOS Sequoia 15 on an Apple M1 or newer with 8 GB of RAM.
Does MapleStory Classic run on Mac?
Yes, on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer) with macOS Sequoia 15.0 or later, through the Nexon Launcher or Steam.
How much storage does Classic World need?
The Steam listing asks for 60 GB, because on Steam Classic World is bundled with modern MapleStory. The Nexon Launcher installs Classic World as a standalone client; Nexon has not published its size.
Does MapleStory Classic run on Linux or Steam Deck?
Nexon supports only Windows and macOS. Linux and Steam Deck are not listed.
Can I use a controller?
Yes: DualSense, DualShock and Xbox controllers over USB or Bluetooth, after enabling Controller Support in Game Options.
