Fighter guide

Sword or axe warrior: Rush, Slash Blast and Rage, the easiest melee mobber. Warrior 2nd job at level 30; weapon, key skills, the stat build and SP order players use, strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths
  • Rush, Slash Blast (up to 6 monsters) and Final Attack give strong area damage.
  • Rage raises the whole party’s Attack by 40.
  • Rated S for area damage and damage per MP in a community level-70 benchmark; rated low difficulty by henesys.gg.
Weaknesses
  • Melee range.
  • Power Guard is not in 2nd job in Classic World (it moved to the 3rd job, Crusader).
Solo

Strong: area damage, good MP efficiency and a high HP pool make it a safe solo grinder.

Party

Rage is one of the best party buffs before 3rd job.

  • Rush (80% dmg, up to 6 mobs, 150 distance)
  • Final Attack: Sword/Axe (25% proc, 200%, up to 3 mobs)

  • Sword/Axe Mastery (Axe: 25% bleed chance)

Levels 10–30: Warrior build

STR main; DEX only for weapon reqs. Sample: Lv10 57 STR/5 DEX, Lv30 135 STR/27 DEX. SP: Power Strike 20 first (by Lv20), then Slash Blast 20 (by Lv25), Precise Strikes, Improved HP Recovery 3, Max HP Increase 3 at Lv30

Levels 30–100: stats and SP order

STR main, DEX to weapon req: Lv31-36 +3 STR/+2 DEX, Lv37-57 +4/+1 (DEX caps 60), Lv58+ all STR -> 302 STR/60 DEX base at Lv70. SP: Rush 1 -> Rage 1 -> Mastery 20 (Lv38) -> Rage 30 (Lv48) -> Final Attack 30 (Lv57) -> Booster 20 -> Rush 20

Official changes since launch

  • Swordsman HP Recovery from items raised from +5–20% to +20–50% (v1.0.0, 21 October).
  • Iron Body Weapon DEF raised from +5–25% to +20–40% (v1.0.0).
  • Fixed in v1.0.0: Final Attack lasted 30 seconds instead of 60 for some jobs.

Level 1 to 30

Getting to 2nd job

  1. Finish the Maple Island quests (about level 8), then take the boat to Victoria Island.
  2. At level 10 talk to Dances with Balrog in Perion for 1st job (Warrior). Put AP into STR.
  3. Train through the 20s; Kerning PQ opens at 21.
  4. At level 30 return to Dances with Balrog, pass the instructor test (30 Dark Marbles for The Proof of a Hero, per community guides) and choose Fighter. Keep a free Use slot.

How do you play Fighter in MapleStory Classic?

Fighter is the melee mobber and party buffer with a sword or axe: a Warrior 2nd job taken at level 30 from Dances with Balrog in Perion. Rush, Slash Blast (up to 6 monsters) and Final Attack give strong area damage.

When do you become a Fighter in MapleStory Classic?

At level 30. Take 1st job as Warrior from Dances with Balrog in Perion at level 10, then return to the same NPC at level 30 and choose Fighter as your 2nd job.

Is Fighter good for solo?
