Spearman guide
Spear or polearm warrior with the longest melee reach and Iron Will. Warrior 2nd job at level 30; weapon, key skills, the stat build and SP order players use, strengths and weaknesses.
- The longest reach of the melee jobs.
- Final Attack returns 10% of its damage as HP.
- Iron Will adds Weapon DEF and knockback resistance.
- No party buff before 3rd job: Hyper Body is a Dragon Knight skill.
- Two-handed weapons only, no shield.
Good: reach and self-healing Final Attack make grinding comfortable.

302 STR/60 DEX at Lv70 (same curve). SP: Rush 1 -> Mastery 20 -> Final Attack 30 (Lv47) -> Booster 20 -> Rush 20 -> Iron Will 30
Hyper Body is a Dragon Knight (3rd job) skill -> NO party buff at launch. Polearm slightly higher PS/SB damage; spear faster at some levels. henesys.gg difficulty: Medium

- Swordsman HP Recovery from items raised from +5–20% to +20–50% (v1.0.0, 21 October).
- Iron Body Weapon DEF raised from +5–25% to +20–40% (v1.0.0).
- Fixed in v1.0.0: Final Attack lasted 30 seconds instead of 60 for some jobs.

Level 1 to 30
Getting to 2nd job
- Finish the Maple Island quests (about level 8), then take the boat to Victoria Island.
- At level 10 talk to Dances with Balrog in Perion for 1st job (Warrior). Put AP into STR.
- Train through the 20s; Kerning PQ opens at 21.
- At level 30 return to Dances with Balrog, pass the instructor test (30 Dark Marbles for The Proof of a Hero, per community guides) and choose Spearman. Keep a free Use slot.

When do you become a Spearman in MapleStory Classic?
At level 30. Take 1st job as Warrior from Dances with Balrog in Perion at level 10, then return to the same NPC at level 30 and choose Spearman as your 2nd job.
Is Spearman good for solo?
Good: reach and self-healing Final Attack make grinding comfortable.
Is Spearman good in a party?

What is Spearman’s 3rd job?
Dragon Knight (pre-Big Bang), not released in Classic World yet. Classic World’s level cap is 100 with 2nd job as the highest; Nexon announced a 3rd job test server for early 2027.
