Aion 2 Arcana are equippable cards that sit in five dedicated slots (Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror), each adding an Empyrean Lord stat, levels to your class skills and a set bonus. On the global servers they drop from the two Transcendence dungeons, and Unique (gold) cards only start dropping at stage 3, which needs 2,200 Item Level.
Aion 2 Arcana key facts
All numbers below are for the global version (Season 1, which runs from September 30 to December 16, 2026). Every Arcana card needs character level 45 to equip. GamersTogether notes the Arcana grid has ten slots, of which five are open on global, and that cards cannot be bought with real money.

Arcana slots and Empyrean Lord stats
Each slot holds one card, and each slot has two possible cards. The Vigor and Magic versions carry a different Empyrean Lord stat, so the slot choice is really a stat choice.

Game8 lists what three of these stats do: Time [Siel] raises Combat Speed and Smite Resist, Justice [Nezekan] raises Defense and Perfect chance, and Illusion [Kaisinel] raises cooldown reduction and Endurance Penetration.
Arcana grades: Gray, Green, Blue and Gold
Players name grades by frame colour. The grade sets the Empyrean Lord stat, the Item Level the card adds, how many skill levels it grants and its enhancement cap.

Each enhancement level adds one more Item Level, so a +5 Unique card reaches 85. Five +5 gold cards therefore add 425 Item Level on their own, which is why "5 Gold Arcana" shows up so often in account titles.
Where Arcana drop: Transcendence by star level
Transcendence is a 5 player mode with four stages per dungeon. Both Season 1 dungeons drop the Chalice. Deus Research Base adds Bell and Compass, Shattered Arkanis adds Parchment and Mirror.

One detail catches many players: according to metabot, the Unique Chalice is a stage 4 drop in both dungeons. You can fill four slots with gold at stage 3, but the gold Chalice needs 2,500 Item Level.
Reward entries are gated by a counter that refills by 1 every 12 hours up to a maximum of 14. Game8 also lists transmutation in the Arcana menu as a second way to get a specific card, using card specific materials.
Gold Arcana add Item Level, and Item Level is the entry ticket for the next Transcendence stage. Each gold card you equip pushes you toward the 2,500 gate where the gold Chalice drops, so the system feeds itself once you reach stage 3.
Set bonuses
Global has two set families. Every Vigor card counts toward Primal Vigor and every Magic card counts toward Magic Armor, in any grade.

With five slots you can complete one 4 piece set and keep the fifth slot free. That fifth card is where most builds take the off family card for its stat.
Enhancement limits and costs
You enhance a card by feeding it Training Arcana or spare cards. Each adds Enhance EXP, and the card levels up when the bar fills. Enhanced spare cards give more EXP as fodder.
- Common: 900 EXP total, cap +2.
- Rare: 4,200 EXP total, cap +3.
- Epic: 18,000 EXP total, cap +4.
- Unique: 93,000 EXP total, cap +5. The last step alone (+4 to +5) costs 48,000.
Training Arcana come in five sizes from Lesser (200 EXP) to Exalted (5,000 EXP), and metabot lists each at 2,000 Kina. Spending this EXP on green or blue cards is usually wasted once you reach stage 3.
What to prioritize per role
- Damage dealers: four Vigor cards for the Primal Vigor 4 piece, plus Bell of Magic for Destruction [Zikel].
- Tanks: four Magic cards for the Magic Armor 4 piece, plus Bell of Vigor for Justice [Nezekan].
- Healers and casters: focus on Parchment of Magic and Mirror of Magic.
- Every role: check which skills a Chalice levels and keep the one that matches your rotation.
