What Humidifiers are used for

Humidifier is a Residential‑tier household item used mainly in:

• Expedition Projects / Contracts that ask you to “Find X Humidifiers.”
• Some crafting / delivery tasks that specifically call out residential appliances.

Because they’re not weapon mods or high‑value loot, many players ignore them, which is why they feel rare when you suddenly need 5+ for an Expedition step.

How Humidifier spawns work

Guides and community testing agree on a few rules:

• Humidifiers only spawn in “Residential” loot pools - apartments, houses, living quarters.
• They appear mainly in interactables like lockers, cupboards, drawers and shelves inside those buildings.
• They are not locked to a single map; Dam Battlegrounds and Buried City both have valid residential areas.
• The drop is still RNG, but some locations have incredibly high odds because they roll the residential table every run.

This is why the Red Tower spot is so popular: the same two lockers roll the right loot pool every time, making them feel almost guaranteed.​

Best farm: Red Tower (Buried City)

If you only care about finishing Expedition “find X Humidifiers” as fast as possible, run this.

How to get there

1. Launch into Buried City.
2. On the map, locate Red Tower - a clearly labeled POI near Plaza Rosa / Santa Maria Houses.
3. Head for the metro entrance by Red Tower (the subway access right next to the building).​
4. Climb up to Red Tower’s second floor from the metro side:
   • go up the stairs or ledges into the building,
   • follow the corridor around until you reach a straight hallway on 2F.

The exact Humidifier spot

On that second‑floor hallway, directly opposite the stairs, you’ll see two distinctive red lockers against the wall.

• Open both lockers.
• In most runs, one of them contains a Humidifier as long as no one looted it before you.​
• If you’re early into the instance, there’s a very high chance you’ll get at least one.

Because of how reliable this is, many players simply:

• spawn into Buried City,
• sprint straight to Red Tower,
• loot the red lockers,
• extract immediately,
• repeat until they have enough Humidifiers.​

This loop is usually enough to farm all 5 Humidifiers needed for the Expedition Project in just a few short runs.

Other consistent residential spots

If Red Tower is contested or already looted, you can still farm Humidifiers by hitting residential POIs on both main maps.

Dam Battlegrounds - residential zone

Humidifiers can appear in the residential complexes at Dam:

• Ruby Residence
• Pale Apartments
• Pattern House

Route tips:

• Search kitchens and bedrooms:
  • kitchen cabinets, counters, lower cupboards;
  • bedroom wardrobes, dressers, side tables.
• Clear one building fully, then move to the next-don’t waste time checking half a block and then leaving.
• If you’re running Dam for other reasons (bounties, contracts, XP), always clean out these three POIs on your way; you’ll often pick up Humidifiers passively.

Buried City - other residential buildings

Besides Red Tower, Buried City has several good residential clusters:

• Plaza Rosa apartments - the multi‑story blocks around the plaza.
• Santa Maria Houses - smaller homes and townhouses near Red Tower.
• Space Travel building - interior lockers and cabinets.

Focus on:

• lockers, wall cupboards, bedside tables and shelves – same as Dam.
• Interiors that clearly look like living spaces rather than factories or garages.

While none of these spots are as reliable as Red Tower’s 2F lockers, they’re solid if you’re already in Buried City doing missions and don’t want to extract‑reset every time.

Sample efficient farming routes

Pure min-max farm (fastest for Expedition)

Best if you just want to finish the Project and log off.

1. Queue Buried City.
2. Ignore everything, run straight to Red Tower → metro side → up to 2F red lockers.
3. Loot both lockers.
4. If you got a Humidifier (or more), extract immediately at the closest exit.
5. Re‑queue and repeat until you have the required amount.

Pros: fastest method by far.
Cons: kinda boring, and you’ll rarely get extra loot or XP.

Mixed efficiency farm (loot + Humidifiers)

If you want some gear/XP while farming:

On Buried City:

1. Start at a safe edge spawn.
2. Hit Space Travel building and nearby apartments, looting all lockers and cupboards.
3. Rotate to Plaza Rosa and clear one or two apartment blocks.
4. Finish at Red Tower (2F red lockers).
5. If your bags are good and you picked up 1-2 Humidifiers, extract; otherwise, run another loop.

On Dam Battlegrounds:

1. Spawn near the residential area.
2. Clear Ruby Residence → Pale Apartments → Pattern House in one sweep, fully looting kitchens/bedrooms.
3. Extract once you have at least one Humidifier or your mission objectives are complete.

This way you progress contracts, farm materials, and still steadily collect Humidifiers in the background.

Extra tips to make farming smoother

• Go early in the match.
  The Red Tower lockers can be empty if another squad rushed them first; heading there at the start of a run greatly boosts your chances.
• Play off‑hours if possible.
  With fewer players, competition over residential POIs and those lockers is much lower, making the “almost guaranteed” feel literally guaranteed.
• Always loot “boring” furniture.
  It’s tempting to skip plain cabinets and drawers, but that’s exactly where Residential items like Humidifiers spawn. Weapons crates and big boxes rarely contain them.
• Stack objectives.
  Combine Humidifier farming with other Expedition steps that send you to Dam/Buried City so you’re not doing empty runs purely for one item.
• Stop when you’re done.
  Humidifiers don’t currently sell for insane value; once the Expedition asks for 5 (or whatever number your step needs), don’t keep hard‑farming them unless you know you’ll need more soon.
