ARC Raiders is testing a PvE matchmaking toggle from October 13 (11:00 CEST) to October 20 (11:00 CEST). The toggle lets players switch between the standard PvPvE experience and new PvE servers with zero player-to-player damage.
What changes on PvE servers
The developer listed several differences between PvE servers and the standard PvPvE experience during the test.
| Area | On PvE servers |
|---|---|
| Player damage | Zero player-to-player damage |
| Throwables | Stun and fire items will not work on other players |
| Physical interaction items | Barricades, ziplines and similar items are unaffected |
| Loot | Overall loot value is lowered |
| Squad separation | Not prioritized, so different size groups meet more often |
| Excluded map conditions | Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker, Frigate and Redirection offer no PvE option |
| Downed players | Eight second grace period, then ARC may attack if it catches you moving |
| Matchmaking times | May be affected in low-population regions and during quiet hours |
What stays the same
Standard matchmaking continues to apply during PvPvE sessions. The team says this helps it gather strong data on how a PvE toggle affects PvPvE sessions before making any sweeping changes to matchmaking.
The announcement does not say whether the toggle will become permanent. After the test ends, the team will send out a survey asking for detailed feedback and where players want the PvE option to go next.
What it means for players
If you prefer fighting ARC over other raiders, this is your week to try PvE and report what works. The developer specifically asks PvE inclined players to explain what is and is not working.
Expect trade-offs. Overall loot value is lower on PvE servers, so if your goal is building value fast, the standard PvPvE mode may still suit you better. Solo players should also expect to meet larger squads more often.
Learn the new downed rule. After the eight second grace period, ARC may attack if it catches you moving, so staying put and waiting for a teammate is the safer habit.
If you only play PvPvE, keep queuing as usual and tell the team how, if at all, the toggle affects your matches. Watch for the survey once the test closes.
FAQ
Will the PvE toggle stay after October 20?
That is not stated yet. The team will collect feedback and data, then send a survey about where the PvE option should go next.
