Short answer: buy a Pokemon GO account only together with every login linked to it (Google, Apple, Facebook or Pokemon Trainer Club) and the email behind it, because the login provider controls access and recovery codes go to the linked email. A direct store such as METAMMO sells to you itself, checks every account by hand and covers it for life against recovery by a previous owner; escrow marketplaces such as G2G, Eldorado and PlayerAuctions host many sellers and cover you for days or weeks. The publisher's terms list selling or trading accounts as cheating, so no seller can promise the account will never be banned.
Marketplace terms below come from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026. Pokemon GO facts come from the publisher's own terms and help center. This guide was updated on 20 October 2026.
Store or marketplace: what is the difference?
On a marketplace you buy from one of many sellers. The platform does not own or check the account; it holds the payment, takes a fee and settles disputes within its cover period. Quality depends on the seller you happen to pick, and the same account is often listed by several resellers at once.
With a direct store there is one seller: the store. It sources the account, checks it by hand and answers for it after the sale. What you give up is third-party escrow, so look at the store's public record before you pay. METAMMO's record is public on G2G, Eldorado and GameBoost.
How a seller can take a Pokemon GO account back
A Pokemon GO account signs in through a login provider: Pokemon Trainer Club, Facebook, Google or Apple. The help center says each provider can connect to only one account at a time, you cannot unlink the provider you are signed in with, and you cannot remove every login method. Linking and unlinking takes effect across all of the publisher's games.
The publisher does not store passwords, so the login provider controls access, and account recovery finds the account by Trainer Name or email and sends a code to the linked email. A seller who keeps the Google account, the Apple ID or the email behind the login can sign straight back in. That is why you need every linked login, and why the first thing to do is add your own login and unlink the seller's.
What the rules say
Pokemon GO is now published by Scopely Explore, formerly Niantic. Its Terms of Service list sharing accounts and selling or trading accounts as cheating, bar selling, reselling or renting your account, and say virtual goods may not be transferred to another account. The publisher may suspend or terminate access. No seller can remove that risk.

Platform-wide account terms from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026; they apply to any Pokemon GO account bought there. Other sites such as Z2U, EpicNPC and FunPay also carry game account listings; we have not compared their terms here. Dispute handling and seller checks are compared in our marketplace comparison.
Every marketplace above holds your payment until delivery, which protects you against a seller who never hands over the login. Their cover then runs for a fixed period, while a recovery by a previous owner can come months later. That gap is why the length of cover matters as much as having cover at all.
What to check before paying
- Every linked login. Ask which of Google, Apple, Facebook and Pokemon Trainer Club are linked, and get each one with its email and password.
- Your own login added, the seller's removed. Add your Google or Apple login first, then unlink theirs. You cannot unlink the one you are signed in with.
- Apple "Hide My Email". An Apple login with a relay address belongs to the seller's Apple ID. Replace it with your own login.
- Not a child account. Child accounts are tied to a parent or guardian's email and cannot link more than one provider.
- Trainer level and Pokemon in game. A screen recording of the profile with the Trainer Name, the Pokemon storage sorted by what the listing claims, and the item bag.
- How it was played. Accounts levelled with location spoofing or third-party apps break the terms and carry more ban risk. Ask, and avoid accounts with warning history.
Red flags
- A seller who hands over only a Pokemon Trainer Club login while a Google or Apple login stays linked.
- A high-level account with dozens of rare shinies and no profile recording.
- A seller who will not tell you whether the account ever got a warning.
- A request to pay outside the marketplace to save fees.
- A promise that the account cannot be banned.
How METAMMO handles Pokemon GO accounts
METAMMO is a store, not a marketplace: you buy every account from METAMMO, not from an individual seller, and each one is checked by hand: Trainer level, Pokemon, items and the linked logins match the listing. So the deal and the recovery risk are ours. Our warranty is lifetime and covers one thing: if a previous owner ever takes the account back, you get a replacement of equal value or a full refund, your choice. Bans by the publisher are not covered, because no seller controls them.
We have sold game accounts for years and know how the publisher's rules and bans work, so we tell you what to avoid. Delivery is usually within minutes to a few hours, at most 24, with help moving the email and logins to yours. If the account you want is not listed, tell us the Trainer level and Pokemon you want and we look for one.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the safest place to buy a Pokemon GO account?
A seller that hands over every linked login with its email, so you can add your own and remove theirs, and that covers recovery for longer than a few days. METAMMO is a store: you buy from METAMMO, every account is checked by hand and carries a lifetime warranty against recovery by a previous owner.
Can I change the login on a bought Pokemon GO account?
Yes. Link your own Google, Apple, Facebook or Pokemon Trainer Club login, sign in with it, then unlink the seller's. Each provider can connect to only one account at a time.
Can a seller recover a Pokemon GO account?
Yes, if they still control a linked login or its email. Recovery codes go to the linked email. Our lifetime warranty covers that case.
Is buying a Pokemon GO account against the rules?
Yes. The publisher's Terms of Service list selling or trading accounts as cheating. METAMMO's warranty covers recovery by a previous owner, not bans.
