Bleach: Brave Souls characters and meta
Brave Souls has hundreds of character versions: the same hero, like Ichigo or Aizen, has many, each with its own kit, attribute and release date.
The newest event versions usually lead the meta.
Growth
Rarity and growth
| Step | What it means |
|---|---|
| 1★–5★ | Rarity when summoned; 5★ is the top summon rarity |
| ★6 | A 5★ raised one step further in game; it unlocks Transcendence |
| Special Move 1–5 | Raised with duplicates, Ascension or Special Move Sources. “5/5” = maxed |
| Transcendence | Unlocks at ★6. Extra stat boost slots open at Special Move 5 |
| Resurrection | A ★6 at level 200 can be reset for extra Soul Traits; link slot and Special Move levels are kept |
Attributes: SP (Spiritual Pressure), ATK (Attack), FCS (Focus), STA (Stamina) and DEF (Defense). Teams and link slot potions are built around them.

- Look for the version name, not only the hero name: “Aizen” alone can mean a 2016 unit or a 2026 one.
- Check the Special Move level (5/5 is best) and whether the unit is MT.
- New anniversary and TYBW versions hold value longer than old versions.

Who is the best character right now?
TYBW Reiokyu Rukia and Byakuya, Marine Giselle, TYBW Yhwach and TYBW Yamamoto sit at the top of community PvE lists in late 2026.
What does “5/5” mean?
The Special Move is at level 5 of 5. You need duplicates or Special Move Sources to get there.
What is the difference between ★5 and ★6?
Summons give up to 5★. A 5★ can be raised to ★6, which unlocks Transcendence.
Does an old version of a popular hero still matter?
Less. Newer versions of the same hero are usually much stronger.
How often does the meta change?
New banners come every few weeks, so top lists shift often.
