Raid Shadow Legends Shard Drop Rates and Mercy System Explained

October 10, 2026·METAMMO Team

In Raid: Shadow Legends an Ancient or Void Shard has a 0.5% chance of a Legendary, a Sacred Shard 6%, and a Primal Shard 1% for a Legendary plus 0.5% for a Mythical. The mercy system raises those odds after a dry streak: on Ancient and Void Shards the Legendary chance climbs 5% per shard after 200 pulls without one.

Mystery Shards fill the rest with Common (74.2%) and Uncommon (24.4%) champions. Within a rarity, each champion has an equal chance unless a targeted boost is active, as HellHades notes.

How the mercy system works

Mercy is a pity mechanic. After a set number of pulls without a given rarity, each further shard of that type adds a fixed amount to your chance until you hit it. The counter then resets for that rarity on that shard type.

Ancient and Void Shards track Epic and Legendary mercy separately. Pulling a Legendary does not reset an Epic counter that is already past 20. Mystery Shards have no mercy at all.

For the Primal Mythical step, HellHades reported +1% per shard when Primal Shards launched in September 2023, while Ayumilove lists +10%. We could not confirm the current figure from Plarium, so treat it as unconfirmed.

When mercy guarantees a pull

Adding the increases to the base rate shows the worst case for each counter. These are our calculations from the published rates, and real luck is usually better than the worst case.

  • Ancient or Void Legendary: 0.5% plus 5% per shard after pull 200 passes 100% at pull 220.
  • Ancient or Void Epic: 8% plus 2% per shard after pull 20 reaches 100% at pull 66.
  • Sacred Legendary: 6% plus 2% per shard after pull 12 reaches 100% at pull 59.
  • Primal Legendary: 1% plus 1% per shard after pull 75 reaches 100% at pull 174, the same figure HellHades gives.
  • Primal Mythical: around pull 300 at +1% per shard, or around pull 210 at +10%.
Mercy is tracked per account and per shard type, which changes how a stockpile should be valued. A pile of 170 unopened Ancient Shards on a fresh account averages less than one Legendary (170 x 0.5% = 0.85), and it never reaches the 200 pull mercy line on its own.

Summon events and boosts

Plarium runs regular summon events that change what you get from a pull without changing mercy rules.

  • 2x events: double the Epic and Legendary chances on one shard type while active. HellHades described them rotating between shard types every two weeks.
  • Progressive Chance and summon boosts: raise one featured champion's odds. Update 11.75 on 2 September 2026 lifted the regular summon boost multiplier from 10x to 15x.
  • Extra Legendary events: a free extra summon when a Legendary drops, as in the Ancient Shard event that began on 14 July 2026, which ran for 48 hours.

Primal Shards also cannot summon the champions from the daily login rewards, the same rule as Sacred Shards, according to HellHades.

What shard odds mean for account value

Because a Legendary is a 0.5% pull and a Mythical 0.5% from scarce Primal Shards, an account's finished roster represents thousands of shards. That is why buyers look at Mythical and Legendary champions first, as our Raid champion pages explain.

  • Champion names over counts: two accounts with the same Mythical count can differ widely depending on which champions they hold.
  • Unopened shards: a stockpile is a gamble with the odds above, not a guaranteed roster.
  • Sacred stock: the best expected value per shard, at 6 Legendaries per 100 before mercy.

Our Raid guide hub covers champions, Clan Boss, Hydra and Doom Tower if you want to check what a roster can clear.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Legendary drop rate from an Ancient Shard?

0.5%. Ancient and Void Shards share the same table: 91.5% Rare, 8% Epic and 0.5% Legendary. Mercy adds 5% per shard after 200 pulls without a Legendary.

Does mercy carry over between shard types?

No. Every shard type has its own counter, so a Legendary from a Sacred Shard does not reset or advance your Ancient or Void counter.

How many Sacred Shards guarantee a Legendary?

With a 6% base rate and +2% per shard after 12 pulls without one, the chance reaches 100% at pull 59 by our calculation.

Can Primal Shards summon Mythical champions?

Yes. Primal Shards have a 0.5% Mythical chance and 1% Legendary chance. Mythical mercy starts after 200 pulls, but sources disagree on the step size.

What does a 2x event do?

It doubles the Epic and Legendary chances on one shard type while it runs, so an Ancient Shard pays 1% for a Legendary instead of 0.5%. That makes 2x events the usual time to open stockpiles.
