Frightful Frontier runs from 10:30 UTC on Monday, October 5 to 10:30 UTC on Friday, October 23, 2026, and its main prize is a free 5-Star Perfect Soul for The Scarecrow. You clear 22 Outposts across five Zones by finishing Quests, and you need 88 Frontier Points to unlock every reward.
Frightful Frontier key facts
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Dates | October 5, 10:30 UTC to October 23, 10:30 UTC, 2026 |
| Event type | First Frontier Event in RAID: a branching map, not a points race |
| Map | 22 Outposts in 5 Zones (Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythical) |
| Quests | 4 per Outpost, 1 Frontier Point each |
| Points for all rewards | 88 |
| Headline champion | The Scarecrow, Legendary, Spirit affinity, Undead Hordes |
| Companion event | Ingenious Titan (October 5 to 22) awards The Scarecrow himself |
The event is the souls half of a two part plan. Ingenious Titan hands out the champion, and Frightful Frontier hands out his Perfect Souls for Awakening. If you already own The Scarecrow, this map is how you push him to 5 stars of Awakening for free.

How the Frontier map works
You start in the Uncommon Zone. Each Outpost holds four Quests, and each finished Quest gives one point to that Outpost only. Points cannot move between Outposts. Clearing all four Quests completes the Outpost and opens connected routes.
Later Zones also need a total number of Frontier Points before they open:
| Zone | Frontier Points needed |
|---|---|
| Uncommon | Open from the start |
| Rare | 15 |
| Epic | 25 |
| Legendary | 40 |
| Mythical | 60 |
Frontier Events support four Outpost types: Standard, Time-Limited, Hidden and Final. This first event only uses Standard Outposts and the Final Outpost, which opens once every other Outpost is done. So there is no surprise content to wait for; the whole map is reachable from day one if your account can handle the Quests.
What the first Outpost asks
- Clear Spider's Den stage 12 or higher 10 times.
- Win 10 Classic Arena battles.
- Upgrade 5 Accessories to level 8.
- Rank up a Rank 3 or higher champion.
Its rewards are small: 25 Gems, a 3-star Chicken, 10 Spirit Brew and a Rare Tome. The value is all further in.
Rewards: free track vs Explorer Pass
| Scarecrow Perfect Soul | Track |
|---|---|
| 1-Star | Basic (free) |
| 2-Star | Explorer (paid) |
| 3-Star | Basic (free) |
| 4-Star | Explorer (paid) |
| 5-Star | Basic (free) |
| 6-Star | Explorer (paid) |
The free Basic track also carries one Mythical Skill Tome, one Legendary Gemstone, one Mythical Gemstone, Radiant Sunlilies, Epic Glyphs, Gems, Silver and Energy. The Explorer track adds the even star Souls, an Oz themed Avatar Frame tied to the Echoes of Oz crossover, and extra resources.
Should you buy the Explorer Pass?
HellHades lists the pass at $40 USD or 40 GBP, with regional prices possibly different. The catch: buying it does not hand you the rewards. It only opens the paid track, and you still have to clear the Outposts that hold each paid item.
There is no bonus for buying early. Play the map first, see how deep your account gets, then decide. Several late Quests can stop a mid game account cold, and paying for a 6-Star Soul you never reach is the worst outcome here.
The real cost of Frightful Frontier is not the pass. It is the resources you spend too early: a Gemstone claimed before the Gemstone Quest opens, or a Glyph used on the wrong substat, gives you nothing back.
Hardest Quests and how to beat them
Early Outposts ask for familiar tasks: stage 12 dungeons, Campaign wins, Artifact upgrades and Demon Lord fights. Later Zones jump to stage 19 and 25 dungeons, Phantom Shogun and Sand Devil, Artifact Ascension, Forge crafting and Awakenings. The top of the Quest pool includes:
- Clear stage 10 Hard dungeons.
- Win 50 Classic Arena battles and 30 Live Arena battles.
- Craft 30 Rank 6 Artifacts, 30 Legendary or Mythical Artifacts, or 30 Mythical Artifacts.
- Get a Mythical champion and upgrade a Mythical champion's skill.
- Get, level and rank up Legendary or Mythical Relics, up to ranking a Rank 4 Relic.
- Awaken Legendary or Mythical champions.
Live Arena is the main wall
The 5-Star Perfect Soul sits behind an Outpost that needs 30 Live Arena wins, and another route earlier asks for 20. That can mean 50 wins in total. Losses count for nothing, and Live Arena only opens in set windows. At a 50% win rate, that is roughly 100 matches, so start the moment the Quest appears.
Hidden Quests and wasted resources
You cannot see an Outpost's Quests until you reach it. That is the trap. If you claim a Legendary Gemstone now and a later Outpost asks you to obtain one, the earlier claim does not count. The same goes for Souls, Relics, Forge materials and Skill Tomes. Keep these in reserve:
- SPD, ACC, RES, HP%, DEF% and ATK% Glyphs.
- Epic, Legendary and Mythical Souls you have not applied.
- Relics that can still be levelled or ranked, plus Basalt.
- Legendary and Mythical Skill Tomes, and champions waiting for Ascension.
- Unclaimed Gemstones and delayable summons.
The Glyph rule that wastes 6-star Glyphs
A Quest asking you to raise an ACC substat by +10 or more needs the substat to start below +10. HellHades found that 6-star ACC Glyphs used on an item already at +10 did not count, even though the final value rose. The same logic applies to the +5 Quests for SPD, HP%, DEF% and ATK%. Check the starting value first.
Stack overlapping Quests
Two open Outposts with Classic Arena or matching dungeon Quests both progress from the same win. Open parallel Outposts before a long farming session and one run of 20 dungeon clears can count twice.
Is The Scarecrow worth building?
HellHades rates him stronger in practice than his kit suggests. His value sits in Chimera and Sand Devil, with some Arena use. Key tools:
- Reduces ally skill cooldowns by one turn, which enables unusual fast rotations.
- Pairs Increase RES with Decrease ACC, or Increase ACC with Decrease RES.
- Revives an ally under Block Damage.
- His passive revives him after a team wipe, then he brings back a damage dealer, which makes Sand Devil teams forgiving.
The 5-Star Soul matters because he needs Accuracy and Resistance, and Awakening adds both. It also opens stronger Blessings; Brimstone is a strong PvE pick for boss fights.

What this means for account buyers
Frightful Frontier is built for developed accounts. A roster with Mythical champions, ranked Relics, Hard dungeon clears and a working Live Arena team can clear far more of the map than a fresh one. That is why late game accounts hold their value through events like this: the rewards scale with what you already own.
If you are short on time before October 23, an established roster changes the maths. Our Raid Shadow Legends accounts for sale list Mythical counts and named champions, and the Raid hub explains what accounts cost by tier. For which champions actually carry value, see the 2026 tier list.
Frequently asked questions
When does Frightful Frontier end?
It ends at 10:30 UTC on Friday, October 23, 2026. It started at 10:30 UTC on Monday, October 5. The companion Ingenious Titan event ends on October 22.
Can free players get The Scarecrow to 5 stars?
Yes. The free Basic track includes his 1-Star, 3-Star and 5-Star Perfect Souls. The 5-Star Soul needs an Outpost with 30 Live Arena wins, which is the main hurdle.
How many points do you need for all rewards?
You need 88 Frontier Points, which equals all 22 Outposts with four Quests each. Zones open at 15, 25, 40 and 60 points.
Does the Explorer Pass give rewards instantly?
No. It only opens the paid track. You still need to complete the Outposts that hold the 2, 4 and 6-Star Souls and other Explorer rewards.
Where do I get The Scarecrow himself?
From the Ingenious Titan event: part one runs October 5 to 11 with 910 Citadel Points, part two runs October 12 to 22 with 840. All milestones need 1,500 of the 1,750 points.
