War Thunder Retired Packs 2026: Vehicles You Can No Longer Buy

October 10, 2026·METAMMO Team

Gaijin has retired eleven War Thunder premium packs from sale between January and July 2026, including the F-20A Tigershark, MiG-21 Bison, Object 140 and PzH 2000 packs. Players who bought them keep the vehicles, but new players can no longer buy them on any platform, which makes those vehicles a fixed feature of the accounts that already own them.

Dates are the end of each promotion as stated in Gaijin's posts. The Winter Sale ran from 24 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, so its two retirements took effect at the very start of the year.

How Gaijin retires packs

Gaijin does not publish a separate retirement calendar. Retirements appear as a short note at the end of a store sale announcement, worded as packs that "will be removed from purchase on all platforms" or "retired from all platforms after the promotion ends".

The pattern in the last year is consistent:

  • Retirements ride on big sales. The Winter, May and Summer sales each named packs that would leave.
  • The last chance is discounted. Packs leaving the store are usually part of the 50% discount list in that same sale.
  • All platforms at once. The posts say the packs are removed everywhere, not just from the Gaijin Store.
  • Older retirements follow the same format. The New Year Sale of December 2023 retired the Dupleix, AVRE and Super AMX-30 packs the same way.

What retirement means for owners

A retired pack is not a removed vehicle. Owners keep the vehicle and can keep playing it. What changes is supply: nobody new can buy it from the store, so the number of accounts holding that vehicle stops growing.

That is why retired packs are worth listing when you describe or evaluate an account. A Rank VIII nation tree can be researched by anyone with enough time. A retired premium cannot be researched or bought at all. We list premiums by name on every War Thunder account we describe.

The rarest premiums are often not the oldest. A pack sold for years and retired in 2026 sits on fewer accounts than its age suggests, because many players planned to buy it later and then lost the chance.

Retired packs by role

The 2026 list leans heavily on jets, with a few ground vehicles and one battleship:

  • Jets and attackers: Hawk 209, Su-22M4 WTD 61, MiG-21 Bison, F-20A Tigershark, AV-8B Night Attack, J-7D and JH-7A Prototype.
  • Ground forces: Object 140, PzH 2000 and Type 74 Red Star.
  • Naval: Arkansas.

Our F-20A vehicle page covers one of these jets in detail.

How to check an account for retired packs

  1. Ask for hangar screenshots by nation. A full tree screenshot for each nation shows which premium vehicles the account holds.
  2. Cross check the pack name. Some vehicles exist in both a tree and a premium version. Match the exact pack name from the table above.
  3. Note console limits. Gaijin suspended the transfer of console created accounts from 13 May 2024, so check which platform the account was created on.
  4. Look for linked email. A Gaijin account with its own email login is easier to secure than one tied only to a third party login.

What to watch next

Gaijin's last three retirement notes came with the Winter Sale on 24 December 2025, the May Sale on 7 May 2026 and the Summer Sale on 25 June 2026. If the pattern holds, the next notice will arrive with this year's winter sale. Gaijin has not announced which packs, if any, will leave next.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose a pack vehicle when Gaijin retires it?

No. Retirement only removes the pack from sale. Players who already own the vehicle keep it and can keep using it in battle.

Which War Thunder packs were removed in 2026?

Eleven so far: Arkansas, Object 140, Hawk 209, Su-22M4 WTD 61, MiG-21 Bison, F-20A Tigershark, AV-8B Night Attack, J-7D, PzH 2000, JH-7A Prototype and Type 74 Red Star.

Are retired packs removed from Steam and consoles too?

Yes. Gaijin's announcements say the packs are removed from sale on all platforms after the promotion ends, not only from the Gaijin Store.

Does Gaijin ever bring retired packs back?

Gaijin's sale posts describe these packs as retired and give no return date. We found no official statement promising any 2026 retired pack will be sold again.

When will the next packs be retired?

Gaijin has not announced it. The recent pattern ties retirements to major sales, and the last winter sale started on 24 December 2025.
