The safest Watcher of Realms heroes to build in October 2026 are the ones every major tier list agrees on: Guan Yu, Sun Wukong, Ne Zha, Numera, Volka, Beelzebub, Vierna, Valara and Ingrid. Kassandra, Oren and Gu Shi top two of the three lists, while the new Grey Blades heroes split opinion and are not yet a safe long term investment.

Why one tier list is not enough
Watcher of Realms tier lists disagree more than in most gacha games. Each site weights content differently. AllClash scores heroes across five areas, PvE, Guild War, Guild Boss, gear and material raids, and general utility, then takes the median rather than the average. Pocket Tactics ranks by overall performance per class. Pocket Gamer uses a broad S+ tier holding more than 30 heroes.
The result is that a hero can be S+ on one site and absent from the top tiers of another. Kassandra is the clearest example: S+ Fighter on Pocket Tactics and AllClash, but not in the Pocket Gamer S+ tier. Reading one list and pulling on it is how players end up with an awakened hero that the wider community does not rate.
The fix is simple. Treat heroes that sit in the top two tiers of all three lists as the core, and treat everything else as a matter of team and mode.

The consensus heroes for October 2026
These nine heroes appear in the top two tiers of all three lists we compared. They are the lowest risk investments for a new or returning player and the names buyers most often look for in an account roster.
| Hero | Class | Pocket Tactics | AllClash | Pocket Gamer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guan Yu | Tactician | S+ | S+ | S+ |
| Sun Wukong | Fighter | S | S | S+ |
| Ne Zha | Fighter | S | S | S+ |
| Numera | Fighter | S | S | S+ |
| Volka | Fighter | S | S | S+ |
| Beelzebub | Mage | S | S | S+ |
| Vierna | Mage | S | S | S+ |
| Valara | Tactician | S | S | S |
| Ingrid | Mage | S | S | S |
Guan Yu is the only hero ranked S+ by all three. Sun Wukong also got a boost in the 26 September update: a new Golden Immortal Aspect adds splash damage to his Golden Cudgel Strike, so it now hits several enemies around his target. That keeps him relevant for wave clearing as well as single target damage.
Strong on two of three lists
- Kassandra and Oren: S+ Fighters on Pocket Tactics and AllClash.
- Sergei: S+ on AllClash, S on Pocket Tactics, but only A on Pocket Gamer.
- Gu Shi: the only S+ Marksman on Pocket Tactics.
- Cainan and Sue Yue: S Tacticians on Pocket Tactics and AllClash. AllClash notes Sue Yue can be deployed on both ground and platform tiles with the same kit.
- Praetus, Nastya, Valderon, Ezareth, Gretchen, Kigiri: S on both Pocket Tactics and AllClash.
Grey Blades: hype versus rankings
Moonton added the Grey Blades on 26 September 2026. The faction is built around Sync: some members can launch a Sync regardless of distance, so several of them can make extra attacks on the same target. AllClash lists Garroq, Galloway, Rorkesh and Amelia Ainsworth among its heroes.
| Grey Blades hero | Rarity and class (AllClash) | AllClash tier | Pocket Gamer tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Garroq | Legendary Fighter | A | S+ |
| Amelia Ainsworth | Legendary Marksman | A | S+ |
| Rorkesh | Legendary Marksman | B+ | Not in S+ |
| Galloway | Epic Marksman | A | Not in S+ |
The spread between A and S+ for the same hero tells you the community has not settled on how strong Sync teams are. Pocket Tactics, last updated on 13 September, predates the faction entirely. If you pull for Grey Blades now, you are betting on the faction growing, not on a proven meta.
The Fallen Covenant boss quietly changed what a strong account looks like. It needs two full teams at once, and they cannot share heroes, gear or Artifacts. An account with six awakened stars and nothing behind them now clears less than one with twelve solid heroes, so roster depth has become a real stat, not a vanity number.
How tier lists translate into account value
A tier list tells you which heroes are strong; account value depends on how far they are built. Listings describe this with awakening levels, written A1 to A5, plus the number of Lord heroes. Lords carry a Lord Skill that buffs their whole faction. Our guide to Watcher of Realms Lords and account value covers that side in detail.
When you read a roster against this tier list, check three things:
- Consensus heroes at high awakening. Guan Yu, Sun Wukong or Vierna at A5 hold value across meta shifts better than a fresh release.
- Faction fit. Strong heroes are worth more when they share a faction with an awakened Lord, because the Lord Skill stacks on top.
- Depth for two teams. With the Fallen Covenant in rotation, a second team of usable heroes is part of the value.

What could shift the list next
Two changes are worth watching. First, AllClash reports a Wizard of Oz collaboration with Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion as Legendary heroes, marked as coming soon with no date. Past collaborations, such as the Assassin's Creed heroes Ezio Auditore and Eivor Varinsdottir, are not guaranteed to return, so collab heroes tend to stay rare on accounts.
Second, the Grey Blades are only weeks old. If new members or balance changes make Sync teams stronger, Garroq and Amelia Ainsworth could settle at S across all lists. Until then, the consensus core above is the safer place to spend.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the best hero in Watcher of Realms right now?
Guan Yu. He is the only hero ranked S+ by Pocket Tactics, AllClash and Pocket Gamer in their September and October 2026 updates. Kassandra and Oren are close behind on two of the three lists.
Are Grey Blades heroes worth pulling?
Not yet as a safe pick. Garroq and Amelia Ainsworth are S+ on Pocket Gamer but only A on AllClash, and Rorkesh is B+. Pull them if you want a Sync team, not for guaranteed meta value.
Why do Watcher of Realms tier lists disagree?
Each site scores different content. AllClash uses a median across five modes, Pocket Tactics ranks within each class, and Pocket Gamer keeps a very large S+ tier. Heroes that are strong in one mode can rank low overall.
Does the tier list change account value?
Yes, but awakening matters more. A consensus hero at A5 adds real value, while a top ranked hero at A0 adds little. Lords and roster depth for two team content complete the picture.
When is the Wizard of Oz collab coming?
No date has been announced. AllClash lists Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion as Legendary heroes marked coming soon as of 6 October 2026.
