Short answer: buy an Apex Legends account either on an escrow marketplace (G2G, Eldorado, GameBoost, U7BUY or PlayerAuctions), where the platform holds your payment until delivery, or from a direct seller with a written warranty against recovery, such as METAMMO. The biggest risk is the original owner taking the EA account back after the sale. Make sure you end up controlling the EA account and its email, check which platforms are linked, and pick cover that lasts long enough to deal with a late recovery.
Marketplace terms below come from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026. This guide was updated on 9 October 2026.
Why recovery is the main risk with Apex
Apex Legends progress is tied to an EA account, not to a console or a Steam profile. EA's cross-progression help page says progress is permanently tied to the EA account, that there is one Apex profile per EA account, and that progress cannot be moved from one EA account to another. So whoever controls the EA account controls the heirlooms, skins and badges. An original owner who keeps the email, or who can answer EA's account verification questions, can take the account back long after a short warranty has run out.
The second risk is the publisher. EA's User Agreement tells players not to be involved in "account or in-game currency buying, selling", so EA can act against a traded account. No seller and no marketplace can remove that.
Platforms and linking
Cross-progression covers PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch: a platform account linked to the EA account opens the same Apex profile. EA also says that unlinking a platform and linking it to another EA account does not move progress, and that after unlinking you lose access to that content until you relink. In practice this means two things. You need the EA account itself, not just a Steam or PlayStation login. And if you play on console, ask which console accounts are linked now and whether yours can be linked before you pay.
Where to buy an Apex Legends account: buyer protection compared
| Where | Type | Free account cover | Recovery by a previous owner covered? | Paid extension | Time to report a problem |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G2G | Marketplace with escrow | 14 days | Yes, as an access or ownership problem: refund or replacement (refund policy) | None | 72 hours after delivery |
| Eldorado.gg | Marketplace with escrow | 5 days on most games | Yes: "recovered by the seller" is a listed case, as are bans caused by the transfer (details) | 3 or 6 months on selected offers | 3 days after delivery |
| GameBoost | Marketplace with escrow | 14 days | Yes: an account banned or compromised through no fault of yours is paid as store credit | Lifetime, sold as an add-on | Straight after delivery |
| U7BUY | Marketplace with escrow | At least 14 days | Yes: recovery by the seller and bans caused by the transfer | No published terms found | 72 hours after shipping |
| PlayerAuctions | Marketplace with escrow | Only if the seller offers it: 7, 14 or 30 days | Yes, within that cover: full refund to the original payment method | Paid After-Sale Protection at checkout | 72 hours |
| METAMMO | Direct seller, own stock | Lifetime, included | Yes, for life: full refund or replacement, confirmed claims settled within 48 hours. Bans not covered | Not needed | No time limit on recovery claims |
Platform-wide account terms from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026. Which marketplaces carry Apex Legends listings on a given day varies; these terms apply to any account bought there. Dispute handling, seller ID checks and support channels are compared in our marketplace comparison.
Credit where it is due: all five marketplaces hold the payment until delivery, so a seller who never hands over the login does not get paid, and disputes go to the platform. The limit is time. A recovery after the cover ends is not paid, which is why METAMMO's warranty against recovery has no end date.
What to check before paying
- The EA account email. You must end up controlling the email on the EA account and be able to set your own password and two-factor. Without the email, the previous owner can reset the password.
- Linked platforms. Ask which of Steam, the EA app, PlayStation, Xbox or Switch are linked, and which come with the sale. A console account you do not receive should be unlinked by the seller in a way you can confirm.
- Heirlooms, by name. Heirlooms are the biggest single value driver and cannot be traded between accounts. Ask for a recording of each one in the game, not a count in the title. Our heirloom list helps you match names.
- Prestige and retired skins. Prestige skins and early battle pass or event items mark a heavily invested account. Check each named item in the locker.
- Badges and rank history. Predator and Master badges, 20-kill and 4K damage badges should fit the account level. A very high rank on a fresh account is a warning sign.
- Account standing. Ask whether the account has ever had a suspension. Ban history travels with the EA account.
- Who created it. Ask whether the seller is the original owner. A reseller cannot stop the first owner from contacting EA.
Red flags
- The seller hands over a Steam or PlayStation login but not the EA account and its email.
- Heirloom screenshots that crop out the player name, or only a count in the title.
- A seller who "cannot unlink" a console account they are keeping.
- A request to pay outside the marketplace, or by gift card, to skip fees.
- Pressure to confirm delivery before you have changed the email and checked the inventory.
- A promise that the account cannot be banned.
How METAMMO handles Apex Legends accounts
METAMMO is a direct seller: we sell our own stock instead of hosting other sellers. Every Apex Legends account is checked by hand before it is listed. Our warranty is lifetime and covers one thing: if a previous owner ever takes the account back, you get a full refund or a replacement, and confirmed claims are settled within 48 hours. Publisher bans are not covered, because no seller controls them.
If you are not sure which account fits you, tell us on Discord or by email what you want to play and we help you choose. Delivery is usually within minutes to a few hours, at most 24, and you can cancel for a full refund at any time before delivery. What you give up compared with a marketplace is third-party escrow, so check our public record on G2G, Eldorado and GameBoost first.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the safest place to buy an Apex Legends account?
Somewhere that protects you against both failure modes: escrow covers a seller who never delivers, and a warranty against recovery covers the original owner taking the account back later. Most marketplaces give escrow plus 5 to 14 days of free cover (on PlayerAuctions it depends on the seller); METAMMO, a direct seller, gives a lifetime warranty against recovery. In every case, insist on the EA account email.
Can I play a bought Apex account on PlayStation, Xbox or Switch?
Yes, if your console account can be linked to that EA account. Cross-progression covers PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. Ask which platforms are linked before you pay.
Can heirlooms be moved to my own EA account?
No. Progress and items stay on the EA account they belong to, and relinking a platform does not move them. You buy the EA account itself.
Does a warranty cover a ban from EA?
METAMMO's warranty does not; it covers recovery by a previous owner only. Some marketplaces list bans caused by the transfer among covered cases within their short window. EA's User Agreement forbids account trading, and no one can stop EA acting.
