Where to Buy a VALORANT Account Safely in 2026: Escrow, Warranties and What to Check

Short answer: buy a VALORANT account either on an escrow marketplace (G2G, Eldorado, GameBoost, U7BUY or PlayerAuctions), where the platform holds your payment until delivery, or from a direct seller with a written warranty against recovery, such as METAMMO. The biggest risk is not a seller who disappears; it is the original owner asking Riot for the account back after the sale. Get control of the Riot account's email, buy the region you live in, and choose cover that lasts beyond the first two weeks.

Marketplace terms below come from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026. This guide was updated on 9 October 2026.

Why recovery is the main risk with VALORANT

A VALORANT account is a Riot account: one login, one email and a Riot ID (the name and tag other players see). Whoever controls the email can reset the password, and an original owner who still has the email or the purchase records can ask Riot support to return the account. That can happen weeks or months after a sale, long after a short warranty window has closed.

Riot's Terms of Service forbid selling, buying or transferring accounts, so any bought account also carries a ban risk. A warranty can protect your money against recovery; nobody can promise protection against a ban.

Platform-wide account terms from each platform's own help pages, checked 6 October 2026. Which marketplaces carry VALORANT listings on a given day varies; these terms apply to any account bought there. Dispute handling, seller ID checks and support channels are compared in our marketplace comparison.

The marketplaces deserve credit: escrow means a seller only gets paid once you have the account, and G2G, GameBoost and U7BUY add 14 days of free cover. What escrow cannot do is protect you from a recovery that happens after the cover ends. That is the gap METAMMO's lifetime warranty against recovery is meant to close.

What to check before paying

  1. Region. An account plays in the region it was created in. Riot moves an account only when the owner has actually relocated, and then not again for 90 days (Riot's transfer FAQ). Treat the region as fixed and buy the one you play in.
  2. The email and the Riot ID. You need the login, the linked email and the right to change both. Without the email the previous owner can recover the account. Changing the Riot ID afterwards also stops the seller's friends from recognising it.
  3. Rank, current and past. Titles usually quote the peak rank. Check the current act rank and the rank history; if the price depends on rank, ask for screenshots from the game.
  4. Skins by name. Ask for the collection screen, not a skin count. Champions bundles are sold only during each year's Champions event and do not return to the store or the Night Market (for example the Champions 2023 bundle), so they are the items worth verifying one by one.
  5. Penalties and restrictions. Look for chat or queue restrictions and recent penalties. A recently penalised account is a higher ban risk.
  6. Who created the account. Ask whether the seller is the original owner. A reseller cannot stop the first owner from going to Riot.

Red flags

  • An account in a different region from the one you play in, with a promise that "support will move it".
  • No email handover, or an email the seller says they will "keep for safety".
  • Collection screenshots without the account name, or skin lists copied from a store page.
  • A seller who wants payment outside the marketplace to save on fees.
  • Pressure to confirm delivery before you have logged in and changed the email.
  • Any promise of ban protection.

How METAMMO handles VALORANT accounts

METAMMO is a direct seller: we sell our own stock instead of hosting other sellers. Every VALORANT account is checked by hand before it is listed. Our warranty is lifetime and covers one thing: if a previous owner ever takes the account back, you get a full refund or a replacement, and confirmed claims are settled within 48 hours. Publisher bans are not covered, because no seller controls them.

If you are not sure which account fits you, tell us on Discord or by email what you want to play and we help you choose. Delivery is usually within minutes to a few hours, at most 24, and you can cancel for a full refund at any time before delivery. What you give up compared with a marketplace is third-party escrow, so check our public record on G2G, Eldorado and GameBoost first.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the safest place to buy a VALORANT account?

A seller who protects you against both a failed delivery and a later recovery. Marketplaces give escrow and a fixed cover period (14 days on G2G, GameBoost and U7BUY); METAMMO, a direct seller, gives a lifetime warranty against recovery by a previous owner. Either way, take over the Riot email.

Can I change the region of a bought VALORANT account?

Only through Riot support, and only if you have actually moved to another region; after a transfer you cannot move again for 90 days. Buy an account in the region you play in.

Can the original owner get a VALORANT account back?

Yes, if they still control the email or can convince Riot support with the account's details and purchase records. Taking over the email removes the easy route; a warranty against recovery covers the rest.

Are Champions bundles still available to buy in VALORANT?

No. Each year's Champions bundle is sold only during that event and does not return to the store or the Night Market, which is why accounts that have them are checked skin by skin.

Does any seller protect against a Riot ban?

No seller can stop Riot acting. Some marketplaces pay out for bans caused by the transfer within their short window; METAMMO's warranty covers recovery only.
