Buying a League of Legends account
Region, recovery and history decide whether a League account is a good buy; the skins decide the price. Nine checks, each from Riot’s own support pages and terms.
Checklist
Nine things to check
- 1
The region is the one you play on
An account is created for one region and cannot log in to another region’s client. A one-way transfer costs 2,600 RP in the client store where the route exists: level, champions, skins and RP move, current rank does not, and transfers are not refundable. Korea does not transfer at all, and RU, BR, TR, VN and TW may be unable to transfer to most servers. Pick the region first, then the skins.

Email and recovery are handed over
Ask whether the original email comes with the account or the email will be changed to yours. Once you are in, change the password, put the account on your own email and turn on login verification. Without control of the email, a previous owner can try to recover the account through Riot Support.

Riot ID: what you can change
Your in-game name is a Riot ID (name and tagline). Riot lets you change it for free, but only once every 90 days, so check whether the current one was changed recently if you want a new name straight away.
- 4
Honor level 3 or higher
Everyone starts at Honor 3. Honor 1 and 2 come from penalties: they limit chat and pings and block ranked rewards at the end of the season, including the Victorious skin. Ask for a screenshot of the Honor level on the profile.
- 5
No active penalties
Riot can suspend or terminate an account that breaks its terms, temporarily or for good. Ask whether the account has an active chat, ranked or queue restriction and look for a penalty notice when you log in. After an Honor restriction is completed, Riot restores the account to at least Honor 3.

Hand-levelled, not botted
Riot’s rules forbid bots, scripts and automation programs. Accounts levelled to 30 by a bot program are the cheapest kind and the most likely to be penalised later. A hand-levelled account has a normal match history with a few champions played by a person; ask which one you are buying.
- 7
Ranked status and requirements
Ranked needs level 30, at least 20 owned champions and 10 full Normal games. A rank in a listing is this season’s rank and resets at the season’s end; for a smurf, check whether placements are still to play. Ask for a screenshot of the ranked profile.
- 8
Proof of the rare skins
For accounts sold on rare skins (PAX, Black Alistar, King Rammus, Victorious, Immortalized Legend), ask for a screen recording of the Collection tab filtered to each skin, with the account visible. A total skin count without the names says little.

Vanguard on your computer
League needs Riot Vanguard running whenever the client is open; turning it off blocks play. It is installed on your PC, not tied to the account, and Linux is not supported. Plan for it before you buy.
Riot’s Terms of Service make an account personal: you can’t sell, transfer or share it, skins and other content are a licence rather than property, and Riot can suspend or terminate an account that breaks the terms. No seller can remove that risk, and we do not promise otherwise. What a seller can remove is the previous owner coming back: the email and password handed over to you, and a lifetime warranty if they try anyway. Bans and penalties from Riot are not covered.

Buying FAQ
Is buying a League of Legends account against the rules?
Yes. Section 1.5 of Riot’s Terms of Service says you can’t sell, transfer or allow any other person to access your account, or offer to do so, and Riot may suspend or terminate accounts that break the terms. No seller can remove that risk.
What does hand-levelled mean?
The account was taken to level 30 by a person playing it, not by a bot program. Riot’s rules forbid bots and automation programs, so botted accounts carry more risk of a later penalty. They are also why the cheapest level 30 accounts are so cheap.
Can I change the name on a bought account?
Yes. A Riot ID change is free, once every 90 days. If the previous owner changed it recently, you wait for the cooldown to end.
Can I move the account to my region?
Only where Riot offers the route, for 2,600 RP one way. Skins, champions and level move with it, current rank does not. Korea does not transfer, and several regions are limited, so it is safer to buy on the region you play.
Does METAMMO cover bans?
No. Our accounts are checked by hand and carry a lifetime warranty against recovery by a previous owner: if that happens, the original buyer gets a replacement or a refund. Bans and penalties from Riot are not covered and are not refunded.
