Legacy, chapters and cosmetics
The words in a Dead by Daylight listing, explained, with a note on whether each can still be earned or bought. Legacy Prestige from 2016 is the one thing that cannot be earned again, and almost all of a collector account’s value. Community
Legacy
Characters that can have Legacy
Legacy Prestige
Bloody clothing granted for prestiging a character before Patch 1.3.0, with a cutoff of 24 November 2016. The wiki says it will never be re-issued, and Behaviour says it does not intend to bring Legacy back out of respect for those who earned it. Lost Legacy cannot be restored by support either.

4 accounts in stock with it →L1, L2 and L3
Each prestige level before the cutoff granted one Legacy piece, so L1 is one piece, L2 two and L3 the full set of three for that character. Listings count characters at each level: “7x Legacy 3” means seven characters with all three pieces.
The nine Legacy characters
Only characters in the game in 2016 can have Legacy: survivors Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake and Nea, and killers Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly and Nurse. Legacy on any other character is not real.

2 accounts in stock with it →Hacked Legacy
Behaviour’s permanent-ban list names possessing Legacy cosmetics without earning them: anything obtained after 24 November 2016 is considered cheating. Cheap listings advertising “all Legacy skins unlocked” are this. Previous permanent bans on a player’s record make all later offences permanent too.

Delisted chapters
Licensed chapters sometimes leave the store. Hellraiser (Pinhead) was removed on 4 April 2025 and Halloween (The Shape, Michael Myers, and Laurie Strode) on 19 January 2026; owners keep the characters, perks and Prestige rewards. Stranger Things left in November 2021 and came back in November 2023, so a removal is not always permanent.

2 accounts in stock with it →Prestige (up to 100)
Since Patch 6.1.0 (19 July 2022) each character can prestige up to 100 times, and prestiging no longer removes items, add-ons or perks. It costs 20,000 Bloodpoints at level 50. Prestige 1 to 3 unlock that character’s unique perks for everyone, 4 to 6 give blood-stained cosmetics, 7 to 9 give charms.

Perks unlocked
Teachable perks were removed in 6.1.0: a character’s unique perks now unlock for every character through its Prestige 1 to 3. “All perks” in a listing means the owner has prestiged every character at least three times, which is a lot of Bloodpoints.

Bloodpoints and the Bloodweb
The progression currency earned in trials and spent in the Bloodweb to level a character to 50. Points from trials are capped at 5,000,000 held at once; log-in rewards and promotional codes are exempt and can push the balance past the cap. Ask for a screenshot of the balance when a listing quotes a large number.

1 accounts in stock with it →Auric Cells
The premium currency, sold in packs from 500 to 12,500. It buys characters and cosmetics. With cross-progression, synced platforms share one Auric Cell wallet except Nintendo Switch.

The Rift and the Rift Pass
The Rift was the seasonal reward track; Patch 8.7.0 (6 May 2025) replaced it with the Rift Pass, 100 tiers at 100 Rift Fragments each, plus Quests instead of Tomes. Cosmetics from old Rift seasons are not sold again, which is why listings name them.

1 accounts in stock with it →Rarities: Legendary and Visceral
Cosmetics go from Common to Very Rare, then Ascended, Legendary and Visceral. Legendary is the most elaborate outfit tier; Visceral now also covers killer cosmetics that change how the power looks. Linked sets can only be worn as a full outfit.
Exclusive and promo cosmetics
The wiki groups exclusives as platform or content-creator items, Legacy, and convention or code items. Platform-exclusive cosmetics are not shared by cross-progression, so they stay on the platform they came from.

1 accounts in stock with it →Grades
The monthly ladder from Ash IV to Iridescent I that replaced ranks in Patch 5.2.0. It does not affect matchmaking and resets on the 13th of each month, so a grade in a listing says little about the account.
Cross-progression
A Behaviour Account can sync one account per platform (Steam, Epic, Windows Store, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch). The highest character levels are kept, Bloodpoints, Shards and Rift Fragments are pooled, DLC can flow to Switch but not from it, and syncing cannot be undone, even by support.

Answers
Legacy and cosmetics FAQ
What does L3 mean in Dead by Daylight?
Legacy level 3: the character was prestiged three times before 24 November 2016 and has all three Legacy clothing pieces. L1 and L2 mean one or two pieces.
Will Legacy ever come back?
Behaviour says it does not intend to bring Legacy cosmetics back out of respect for those who earned them, and the wiki says they will never be re-issued.
Are “Legacy skins unlocked” accounts real Legacy?
No. Behaviour’s permanent-ban list treats possessing Legacy without earning it before the November 2016 cutoff as cheating. Earned Legacy is on Steam accounts that played in 2016.
Do I keep Hellraiser or Halloween if I own them?
Yes. Owners keep the characters, perks and Prestige rewards after a chapter leaves the store; only new purchases stop.
What carries over with cross-progression?
Character levels (the highest value wins), Bloodpoints, Iridescent Shards, Rift Fragments and, except on Switch, Auric Cells. Achievements and platform-exclusive cosmetics stay on their platform, and syncing is permanent.
