Seals, emblems and raid exotics

The words in a Destiny 2 listing, explained, with a note on whether each can still be earned. What cannot be earned again (Legacy titles, Day One emblems, one-off community emblems) is what separates a collector account from a new one. Community

Triumphs · Hard to earn

Seals and titles

A seal is a collection of Triumphs for one activity, season or destination. Completing it unlocks a title, cosmetic text shown under the player’s name. Titles add no power; they are a record of what the account finished. The seal count in a listing is the quickest measure of how much endgame content an account has done.

Legacy titles

Titles that can still be equipped but can no longer be earned, because the season or event behind them has ended. Destinypedia lists 31, from Year 2 to Year 7, including Unbroken, Chosen, Godslayer, Legend and ETERNAL. They are the clearest proof of when an account played.

Gilded titles

Since Season of the Chosen some activity titles, such as Flawless and Conqueror, can be gilded by finishing extra Triumphs. The title turns gold for the rest of that season and gains a permanent counter of how many times it was gilded. Judge a gilded title by its counter, not its colour.

Raids · Cannot be earned again

Day One and contest mode

Contest mode runs for the first 24 hours after a raid launches, 48 hours for newer raids, and is harder than Master. Clearing it in that window gives a Day One emblem: for The Desert Perpetual, the Timeline’s Blade emblem for a clear between 19 and 21 July 2025. A returning raid cannot reopen its first day.

Rare emblems

Emblems are the banner behind a player’s name. Some were handed out once: Dexerto counts 12 owners of Wish Ascended (Last Wish Day One) and one of Fly Together, and Cordula went to Bungie Foundation fundraisers who raised over $100,000. Listings often group these as “rare emblems”.

Bungie Bounty emblem

A community emblem earned by winning a match against, or alongside, a player Bungie announced as the target during the event. It is one of the emblems Bungie gives only through its own events, so it cannot be farmed.

Dungeons and Trials · Hard to earn

Flawless and solo flawless

A solo flawless dungeon clear means finishing the whole dungeon alone without dying, and it awards an exclusive Triumph and emblem for that dungeon. “All solo flawless” in a title means the owner did this for every dungeon, one of the hardest records in the game. Flawless is also the Trials of Osiris title.

Raid exotics

Exotic weapons that drop only from their raid, at a low rate. A raid is a six-player activity without matchmaking, so farming them takes an organised group. “All raid / dungeon exotics” in a listing means the full set below.

Dungeons · Hard to earn

Dungeon exotics

Dungeons are three-player endgame activities with their own exotics, for example Heartshadow from Duality, Hierarchy of Needs from Spire of the Watcher and Buried Bloodline from Warlord’s Ruin. Contest-mode dungeon clears gave a unique emblem and a guaranteed exotic.

Weapons · Can still be earned

Exotic catalysts

Upgrades for exotic weapons that add stats, bonus perks or magazine size. A catalyst is found in an activity, then unlocked by completing objectives with the weapon. “All catalysts” on an account is time a new owner does not have to spend.

Patterns and crafting

Weapon crafting arrived with The Witch Queen. Extracting enough red-bordered Deepsight weapons unlocks a weapon’s pattern, which lets the owner craft it with chosen perks. “100% patterns” means every craftable weapon is unlocked: often hundreds of raid and seasonal runs.

Power level (550 Light)

Since The Edge of Fate, Power runs from 10 to a base maximum of 200, a seasonal cap of 450 and 550 after the Ash & Iron update. Sellers still say “Light”. A character at 550 is ready for current endgame activities, but Power is earned again each season and is never the scarce part of an account.

Destiny Content Vault

Bungie’s system for removing content, first used on 10 November 2020: the Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind campaigns, Mercury, Mars, Io and Titan, and the Leviathan raids among others. On 21 September 2026 Bungie said vaulted campaigns, destinations and raids will return for all players, without dates.

Bungie Name and name change

The PlayerName#1234 shown across Bungie games. Changing it uses a Name Change token on Bungie.net; tokens are limited, Bungie sends them occasionally, and the four digits are random after each change. A listing with “name change” has an unused token, so the new owner can pick a fresh name.

Cross save and platform links

One Bungie.net profile can hold one account each of PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic, and linked platform accounts can no longer be removed. With cross save on, one set of characters plays on every linked platform; DLC must be owned on each. “PSN / Xbox link available” means that slot is still free for the buyer.

Silver, Bright Dust and Eververse

Eververse sells mostly cosmetics for Silver, bought with real money, or Bright Dust, earned in game and bound to the account. With cross save, Silver stays on the platform it was bought on, though the items it buys work everywhere.

Seals and collectibles FAQ

What are seals in Destiny 2?

A seal is a set of Triumphs for an activity, season or destination. Completing every Triumph in it unlocks a title shown under your name. Some titles can be gilded each season; Legacy titles can be worn but no longer earned.

Which Destiny 2 titles can no longer be earned?

Destinypedia lists 31 Legacy titles, including Unbroken, Chosen, Godslayer, Legend and ETERNAL, mostly from seasons and yearly events that have ended. Our seals and titles guide lists them by year.

What is a Day One emblem?

An emblem for clearing a raid in contest mode during its first 24 hours (48 for newer raids). It cannot be earned after that window, even if the raid comes back, which is why it is one of the most valued items on an account.

Which exotics only drop from raids?

Among them: One Thousand Voices (Last Wish), Anarchy (Scourge of the Past), Eyes of Tomorrow (Deep Stone Crypt), Vex Mythoclast (Vault of Glass), Collective Obligation (Vow of the Disciple), Touch of Malice (King’s Fall), Conditional Finality (Root of Nightmares), Euphony (Salvation’s Edge), Necrochasm (Crota’s End) and Whirling Ovation (The Desert Perpetual).

Do seals and emblems come back with unvaulted content?

Bungie has not said. Its 21 September 2026 announcement covers campaigns, destinations and raids; it does not mention Triumphs, seals or emblems. Day One emblems record a date, so they stay unrepeatable either way.
