No, you cannot transfer Fortnite skins from one Epic account to another. Epic says items permanently remain on the account where they were purchased, earned or claimed, and its support team cannot process transfer requests. The account merge tool that once combined lockers ended on 6 May 2019, so the skins and the account now travel together or not at all.

Why skins cannot be transferred
Fortnite stores progress and purchases on the Epic Games account, not on the console or the device. When you buy a skin, it is written to that account and stays there. Epic's help article on the topic is short and clear: it is not possible to manually transfer an item or cosmetic between Epic accounts.
The same rule covers everything in the locker: outfits, back blings, pickaxes, gliders, emotes, wraps and Battle Pass rewards. Gifted items land on the receiving account and stay there too.
Epic's license terms also describe access to the game as personal and non-transferable. That is the policy reason behind the technical one.
What happened to account merge
Epic once offered an Account Merge tool. It existed to fix a cross-platform problem: players who had built a locker on a PlayStation linked account and another on an Xbox or Switch linked account could combine them into one.
It was always meant to be temporary. The Fortnite Team announced that Account Merge would end on 6 May 2019, two days before Season 9, and that requests already in progress before that date would still be completed. There has been no replacement since.
So any video or website that promises to "merge" two Fortnite accounts today is describing either console linking, which is a different thing, or a scam that asks for your login details.

The two real options Epic offers
1. Return it and buy it again
If you bought something on the wrong account by mistake, Epic's refund tools can help, but only for recent Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks.
- Cancel Purchase: available for 24 hours after buying, as long as the item has not been used or equipped in any mode.
- Return Tickets: every account has three, valid for eligible items bought in the last 30 days. You get one back every 365 days while you hold fewer than three.
- Not refundable: passes and pass levels, gifted purchases, Save the World llamas and purchases made inside creator islands, among others.
- Bundles: if the item came in a bundle, the whole bundle has to be refunded.
After the refund, the V-Bucks return to the original account. You can then buy the item on the right account, but only if it is still in the Item Shop. This does nothing for a skin that left the shop years ago.
2. Relink your console
Sometimes the items are not on the wrong account at all. The console is simply linked to a different Epic account than the one you expect. In that case, unlinking the console and linking it to the right Epic account brings the right locker back.
Relinking has a catch. If the same type of console was linked to that Epic account before, you must remove a linking restriction first. Epic says this can be done only once every 365 days and cannot be bypassed. Epic also advises cancelling any Fortnite Crew subscription on the platform account you are removing.
The 365 day linking restriction matters more to account buyers than the transfer rule. If a seller's PlayStation or Xbox is still linked and the restriction was used recently, you may be stuck on PC and mobile until the cooldown ends, even with full email access.
What this means if you want a specific skin
Because skins cannot move, the only way to own a locker that someone else built is to take over the whole account. That changes what you should check. You are not buying items, you are buying an Epic account and everything tied to it.
- Original email: the person who controls the email can recover the account through Epic support. Full email access matters more than any skin.
- Linked accounts: ask which console accounts are linked, and whether they will be unlinked before handover.
- Platform: confirm the locker works where you play. Ask for a screenshot of the Linked accounts page.
- Transactions: the Transactions tab on epicgames.com lists purchases from newest to oldest and helps date the account.
- Rare items: check original styles on OG skins in the locker, not in a title.
For the OG side of a locker, our guide to Fortnite OG skins that are still exclusive shows which items came back and which original styles did not. The rarest Fortnite skins list has the Item Shop history for each one.
When you are ready, browse Fortnite accounts with rare skins and filter by the items you want, rather than hoping a skin can be moved later.

Frequently asked questions
Can Epic support move my skins to a new account?
No. Epic Games Support states that it cannot process item transfer requests. Items stay on the account where they were purchased, earned or claimed.
Can I still merge two Fortnite accounts?
No. Account Merge ended on 6 May 2019. Requests already in progress before that date were completed, and Epic has not offered a merge tool since.
Can I gift a skin I already own to another account?
No. A skin already in your locker cannot be sent anywhere. Epic says items permanently remain on the account where they were purchased, earned or claimed.
Do V-Bucks transfer between accounts?
No. V-Bucks sit on the Epic account like skins do. A refund through Cancel Purchase or a Return Ticket returns V-Bucks to the same account, not to another one.
Will linking my PlayStation to a bought account combine the lockers?
No. The console shows the progress of the Epic account it is linked to. Your old locker stays on your old Epic account, and the two are never combined.
Skins never move, so the account you pick is the locker you keep. Our Fortnite accounts catalog lists accounts that are checked by hand before delivery, each with a lifetime warranty against recovery by the previous owner. If you are unsure which locker fits you, our team will help you choose. See the Fortnite guide hub for more.
