Chrono Crystals are sold in the app and in the official web store; guides say the web store needs a linked Bandai Namco ID.

You cannot exchange items for Crystals in the Exchange Shop while you hold more than 20,000 Crystals.

Most big banners are step-up summons, and each step is a 10x consecutive summon.

• A typical ULTRA step summon: steps 1 to 3 cost 1,000 Chrono Crystals each, step 4 is free, then it returns to step 1.
• Each 10x step guarantees at least one SPARKING or higher unit.
• A featured ULTRA usually drops with 2,000 Z Power.

• Featured ULTRA and LEGEND banners have a drop counter: if the featured unit does not drop, you get its Z Power at a set number of drops.
• In 2026 this was lowered: ULTRA from 600 to 450 drops and LEGEND from 500 to 450 drops (8th anniversary). Later banners (Summer Fest 2026, the October 2026 Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta return) also use 450.
• The counter resets to 0 once you get the featured Z Power, or when the banner returns.
• Anniversaries and festivals also give free step summons, LL-guaranteed tickets and big ticket summons; in 2026 the anniversary gave a free 100x summon with 8 guaranteed LEGENDS LIMITED units.

A “starter” account usually means a fresh account with a large Chrono Crystal balance; the buyer then summons on the banners they want. A “played” account has already turned crystals into units and stars, which is why a played account with many high-star ULTRA units is worth more than a pile of crystals.
