The rarest Division 2 cosmetics are the final rewards of the 2020 apparel events (the Badlands Mask, the Rikers Bandana and the Ballistic Helmet) and the Twitch Prime outfits from 2019. Almost everything else, including most event outfits and all 12 Hunter Masks, can still be earned or bought today, so it adds style to an account but very little scarcity.

Why most "rare outfits" are not rare
Account listings often promise "rare outfits" or "exclusive apparel". In most cases that means event clothing, and Ubisoft was clear about what happens to it. After each 2020 apparel event, the regular items went on direct sale in the in-game store and could rotate into the Apparel and Legacy cache pools.
That rule covered the bulk of each event. Phoenix Down had 38 pieces across the Anne, Garzia, Hoopster and Sutton outfits. Last Resort had 29 pieces across the Bastion, Enforcer, Mechanic and Specialist outfits. Outguard had 24 pieces across the Coyote, Grizzly, Hawk and Mongoose outfits.
So a full Outguard outfit on an account is nice to have, but a new player can still collect it. It should not carry a collector premium on its own.
The rare item in each 2020 event was never the outfit. It was the one reward you only got for completing the whole set before the deadline. An account holding the Badlands Mask proves its owner played and finished Phoenix Down in summer 2020, and no store purchase can recreate that.
The event completion rewards
Badlands Mask (Phoenix Down, 2020)
Phoenix Down ran from 14 July to 11 August 2020. Ubisoft described the Badlands Mask as the reward for collecting all Phoenix Down items during the event. It is the oldest of the three completion rewards, and it only exists on accounts that finished the full set in 2020.
Rikers Bandana (Last Resort, 2020)
Last Resort was active from 6 to 26 October 2020, with a closing phase until 2 November. Ubisoft's notes state the exclusive mask would no longer be obtainable after the event ended on 2 November.
Ballistic Helmet (Outguard, 2020 to 2021)
Outguard ran from 22 December 2020 to 11 January 2021, with a closing phase to 18 January. Ubisoft said the Ballistic Helmet would no longer be obtainable after 11 January 2021.
Twitch Prime outfits from 2019
In July 2019 Ubisoft announced four exclusive apparel bundles for Twitch Prime members, starting with a baseball themed outfit. A hockey outfit followed on 24 September 2019. Ubisoft called them exclusive to Twitch Prime members at the time.
We could not confirm the full names of all four bundles from Ubisoft's own pages, and we found no official note on a later reissue. Treat them as rare but verify each piece in the account's apparel collection.

Hunter Masks: prestige, not scarcity
The Division 2 has 12 Hunter Masks in Washington D.C., each dropped by a hidden Hunter you summon with a puzzle or trigger. Several spawn only at night in game time. The full set is Ghost, Specter, Ghoul, Midas, Revenant, Wraith, Crimson, Cross, Diamond, Death, Phantom and Demon. Battle for Brooklyn added its own Hunter Masks.
A full mask set shows the previous owner knew the game well. It does not make an account rare, because any player can still farm every mask.
Current season cosmetics
Year 8 Season 3, Red Horizon, launched on 27 August 2026. Its Season Pass costs 1,000 Premium Credits, and the free track carries the Fafnir shotgun and Iron Will chest piece. Year 8 opened in April 2026 with Rise Up, which also ran Twitch Drops from 2 to 9 April with cosmetics and caches.
Season and drop cosmetics can become scarce later, but nothing official says they will never return. Value them as recent progress for now.
How to check cosmetics before you buy
- Ask for a screenshot of the apparel collection showing the exact item name, not only a character render.
- Match the item to its source: completion reward, Twitch Prime, Hunter, store or Season Pass.
- Confirm the account runs on the platform you play. Cosmetics stay with the platform account.
- Check that the Ubisoft account email can be changed to yours, since Ubisoft sends the change link to the current address.
Our Division 2 buying guide covers SHD level, Expertise and exotics, which drive most of an account's practical value.
Frequently asked questions
What is the rarest cosmetic in The Division 2?
The strongest candidates are the 2020 apparel event completion rewards: the Badlands Mask, Rikers Bandana and Ballistic Helmet. Ubisoft stated each would not be obtainable after its event ended, unlike the regular event outfits.
Can I still get old apparel event outfits?
Yes, in most cases. Ubisoft said event items would go on direct sale in the in-game store and could rotate into Apparel and Legacy caches after each event. Only the final completion reward was excluded.
Are Hunter Masks rare?
No. All 12 Washington D.C. Hunter Masks can still be farmed through their hidden encounters, and some appear only at night. They show endgame knowledge, not exclusivity.
Do cosmetics transfer between PC and console?
No. The Division 2 has no cross-save between PC and consoles, and the crossplay arriving in November 2026 does not change that. Buy an account on the platform you play.
Is a "rare outfits" account worth more?
Only if the outfits are verifiably closed rewards. Most outfits in listings are store or cache items. Ask which items are included and check them in the apparel menu.
