MapleStory link skills
Every character can equip 12 link skills from other characters on the same account and world, plus its own. Links level up at character levels 70, 120 and 210. Below: every link, its max-level effect, and the links guides rate best.
Rules
How link skills work
- A character can equip up to 12 link skills from other characters, plus its own (13 total); not counted against the 12
- Up to 3 link skill presets per character (12 links each)
- Link level 1 obtained at creation, shareable from character level 70; Lv2 at 120; Lv3 at 210 in GMS (other regions: 285 + Proof of a Brilliant Hero)
- Links are shared only between characters on the same account AND same world; no limit on how many characters can receive a link
- Requires 1st job advancement; receiving character cannot already have that link (cannot link to same class)
- Transfers/removal/presets cannot be done inside a boss map; transfer fees and daily limit removed after the NEXT/Stargazer update (KMS patch first waived meso fee from 5th transfer/day)
- Managed via Link Manager in Beginner skills tab
- Explorer (per archetype), Cygnus and Resistance links are shared by the group; leveling different classes of the group raises the shared link (Explorer to 9, Cygnus to 15, Resistance to 12). Leveling a duplicate class (e.g. two Heroes) does not add levels
- Heroic (Reboot) vs Interactive world differences for links: none documented in sources checked

How many link skills can you equip in MapleStory?
Twelve link skills from your other characters, plus the character’s own link, which does not take a slot. Each character can save up to three link presets.
At what level do link skills level up?
A link reaches level 1 when the character is created and can be shared from level 70; it reaches level 2 at 120 and level 3 at 210 in GMS. Explorer, Cygnus and Resistance links are shared by their class group and level up as you raise different classes of that group.
Do link skills work across worlds?
No. Links are shared only between characters on the same account and the same world. A Kronos link does not help a character on Bera.
What are the best link skills for bossing?
The links most often recommended for bossing in 2026 guides include Qi Cultivation (Mo Xuan), Moonlit Blade Learnings (Hayato), Guiding Stars (Sia Astelle/Erel Light), Judgment (Kinesis), Fury Unleashed (Demon Slayer), Elementalism (Kanna). The exact twelve depend on your class and on what you already have.
What does “12 links” mean on an account for sale?
That the world has enough characters at levels 70, 120 and 210 to fill all twelve link slots, usually at max link level. Links are world-bound, so they only matter for that world.
