Before you buy a MapleStory account
Seven things to check, from the original email to the world you will play on, taken from Nexon’s own player-support pages.

Get the original email
When an account is disputed, Nexon decides ownership by the original email, the name and birth date on the account, the games played and NX purchases from the last 90 days. A previous owner who kept the original email can usually win that dispute, so “OG email” is the single most important line in a listing.

Know how the Nexon account and Steam fit together
Characters belong to the Nexon account. Steam is a linked login, one Nexon account per Steam account, and characters cannot move between Nexon accounts. If the account plays through Steam, the Steam account is part of the sale.

Check the character on the rankings
Nexon’s public rankings list a character’s name, level, job, world and Legion level, with Heroic and Interactive worlds ranked separately. Ask for the character name and look it up before paying.

Ask for screenshots of CP, gear and HEXA
Titles round up. Ask for the character window with Combat Power, the equipped gear with Star Force and Potential, the HEXA Matrix and the Legion board.

Pick the world you will play on
In Heroic worlds gear and mesos cannot leave the account, so a strong Kronos character does nothing for you on Hyperion. Buy on the world, and the region (North America or Europe), you will actually play.

Turn on two-factor authentication
Nexon replaced the in-game PIC with two-factor authentication by SMS or an authenticator app, managed through the Nexon Launcher or Steam, with a list of trusted devices. Change the email and password and reset trusted devices after the sale.

Mind the ban carry-over
Since September 2026 a ban in MapleStory or MapleStory Classic World applies to both on the same account.
Red flags
When to walk away
- No original email, or a seller who wants to keep it “for security”.
- A character name you cannot find on the official rankings.
- Large NX purchases in the last 90 days that the seller could charge back.
- Mesos or gear described as bought from third parties.
- A price far below listings with the same world, CP and Legion.
How we verify and what we promise
Every MapleStory account we list is checked by hand: we sign in, compare the world, job, level, Combat Power, Legion and gear with the title and look the character up on the rankings. Delivery is in a private support chat, with help moving the email to yours and turning on two-factor authentication.
Our warranty is lifetime and covers one thing: recovery by a previous owner. If that happens, you get a replacement or a refund. It does not cover bans by Nexon. Full terms: warranty.
What Nexon’s rules say
Nexon’s Code of Conduct forbids using its games for commercial purposes, including selling accounts, NX or in-game items, and a permanent ban forfeits all content and NX on the account. Its User Abuse page lists account trading, gold trading and account sharing, and the Banning Guidelines set bans from 3 days to permanent, with removal from rankings. We say this plainly because it is the one risk no seller can remove.

Is buying a MapleStory account allowed?
No. Nexon’s Code of Conduct forbids exploiting its games for commercial purposes, including selling accounts, NX or items, and its User Abuse and Banning Guidelines list trading, selling or buying accounts and account sharing as offences with bans from 3 days to permanent. Any bought account carries that risk.
What do I receive when I buy a MapleStory account?
The Nexon account login and, when the listing says OG email, the email it was created with, so you can change both. If the account plays through Steam, the Steam login too, because Steam is the linked login.
Can the previous owner take a MapleStory account back?
They can try through Nexon support, which decides by the original email, the account name and birth date, and recent NX purchases. That is why we sell with the original email where the listing says so, and why our warranty covers recovery for life.
How does METAMMO check a MapleStory account?
By hand before listing: we sign in, compare world, job, level, Combat Power, Legion and gear with the title and check the character on the rankings. Delivery includes help changing the email and turning on two-factor authentication.
What does the METAMMO warranty cover?
