Riot will reveal a new agent live before the Champions Shanghai grand final on 18 October 2026. Below, what Riot has actually shown, then the leaks, labelled as unconfirmed with the outlets that reported them. Riot
From Riot
Riot’s Champions Shanghai Finals Weekend preview says a new addition to the roster will be revealed live on broadcast before the grand final on 18 October, with the line “Bend your mind around a new addition to the VALORANT roster”. Riot gave no name, role or release patch. Riot
Riot promotional art for a new-agent themed pop-up café in Shanghai, timed with Champions, shows the character: a woman with long, light hair in dark clothing. Outlets also report a clearer image on Riot’s Weibo account on 10 October. We describe this art from outlet reports; Riot has not posted it on playvalorant.com. CommunityCommunity
Outlets report that Riot’s “This One’s BIG” dev update video, the one that announced patch 13.06, ends with a short shot of a new character. RiotCommunity

These come from data miners and leak accounts, as reported by gaming outlets. Riot has not confirmed any of them; some may turn out wrong.
Several outlets, citing data miners, report the agent is a Duelist. That would make it the ninth duelist next to Iso, Jett, Neon, Phoenix, Raze, Reyna, Waylay and Yoru. Not confirmed by Riot. CommunityCommunityCommunity
Leakers describe a dash that works differently from existing ones, and EpicFlix reports a leaked kit that includes copying a teammate’s signature ability. Ability names circulating online are not repeated here until Riot publishes the kit. CommunityCommunity
Reports suggest a Chinese agent, which would fit a reveal at Champions Shanghai. Not confirmed by Riot. CommunityCommunity
Leak accounts pointed to 17 October, during the Finals Weekend showmatch. Riot’s own post has since named the broadcast before the grand final on 18 October, so treat 18 October as the date. CommunityCommunityRiot
Fans and outlets call the new agent Agent 31, following the community’s running agent numbers; going by the game data it would be the 30th playable agent, after the 29 in the client today. CommunityData
Once Riot publishes the kit and the agent appears in the game data, it gets a full guide page like every other agent, with each ability and its key, and this page is updated with the release patch. Until then, see all 29 current agents on the agents page, the current meta and the patch calendar.

Riot has not said. Several outlets report a Duelist, citing data miners; that would be the 9th duelist. Treat it as unconfirmed until the reveal.
Riot has not announced a release date or patch yet. This page will add it once Riot publishes it, and the agent gets its own guide page with abilities once it is in the game data.
It is a community label from the running agent numbers. The game data lists 29 playable agents today, so the new one would be the 30th playable agent.
