Buying a Fortnite account
A Fortnite account is worth its skins only if you control its email. Here is what to check before paying, what the market pays for, and what Epic’s rules mean for a buyer.
Checklist
Seven things to check
- 1
Full access, including the email
You should end up with the Epic account’s login email and password under your control. Without the email, the previous owner can reset the password and take the account back.
- 2
Which consoles are linked
Once a console account has been linked and unlinked, Epic blocks linking a different account of the same platform type; that block can be lifted once every 365 days. Ask which platforms have been linked and whether yours can be.

Original-owner styles, not just skin names
Renegade Raider, Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper can be bought today. What sets a 2017 account apart is the original-owner style — Black & Gold Renegade, Purple Glow Skull Trooper, Pink Ghoul Trooper. Ask for a screenshot of the style selector, not just the outfit.

Battle Pass and promotional items
Black Knight, Sparkle Specialist, IKONIK, Galaxy and similar items never returned to the Item Shop. A locker video that scrolls through outfits, pickaxes and emotes is the quickest way to confirm them.
- 5
Save the World
Accounts that include Save the World, Fortnite’s paid co-op mode, are listed higher in our market data. Check that it is actually on the account, not just in the title.
- 6
Skin count you can verify
The number of skins is the main price driver. Ask for the locker count from the game, not a number in the title.
- 7
Epic’s rules
Epic does not allow accounts to be sold, given away or traded, and says that buying, selling or sharing an account can lead to a ban. No seller can remove that risk; a warranty can only cover the previous owner taking the account back.

What our warranty covers
Every METAMMO account is checked by hand before listing and carries a lifetime warranty against recovery: if a previous owner ever takes the account back, the original buyer gets a replacement or a refund. Publisher bans are not covered — buying accounts is against Epic’s rules and no seller controls that.

Buying FAQ
Is it safe to buy a Fortnite account?
It carries two risks. The previous owner can recover the account if they still control its email, and Epic’s rules forbid buying and selling accounts, which can lead to a ban. Full access including the email removes most of the first risk; nothing removes the second. METAMMO accounts carry a lifetime warranty against recovery by a previous owner — refund or replacement for the original buyer; bans are not covered.
What should a Fortnite account cost?
In public listings over the last 90 days, the median asking price was $29 for 50–199 skins, $74 for 200 or more, and $170 for accounts with a rare Chapter 1 skin. Full breakdown on the price index.
Can I link my PlayStation or Xbox to a bought account?
Only if that platform type is free on the Epic account. Epic blocks linking a new account of a platform type that was linked before; the block can be lifted once every 365 days.
What does “OG” mean on a Fortnite account?
Usually that the account has Chapter 1 items that never returned or original-owner styles — for example Black Knight, Sparkle Specialist, Purple Glow Skull Trooper or Pink Ghoul Trooper. Ask the seller exactly which items and styles they mean.
