There is no proven "best gold farm" in WoW: Forever yet. Realms opened on November 4, 2026, Blizzard has not published farming rates, and its hotfixes have already slowed some spots that respawned too fast. What we do know: in a written interview published October 10, Blizzard's Clay Stone said gold from normal play at max level will be more plentiful than in 2004–2005 Classic, and that vendors selling some materials give the Auction House a price reference. The live client also adds crafting orders, cheaper recipes and new uses for gathered materials. This guide covers what has changed and what is still unconfirmed.

How the Forever economy differs from Classic
Clay Stone gave the written interview during the beta. Taiwan's T客邦 published it on October 10. He said gold from normal max-level play will be more plentiful than in 2004–2005, so players need to farm less for raid consumables. He added that when vendors also sell materials, the Auction House stays open but the market gets "an extra price reference". According to Inven Global's report of Blizzard's September 17 Q&A, the team will "actively monitor the in-game economy" and adjust the supply of materials and consumables.
Black Lotus is the clearest example. Wowhead's Forever database lists it as purchasable in Riverglades. In September and October, beta testers on the official forums reported that Mister Graphed in Powderfuse Port sells Black Lotus and Arcane Crystals for 50 gold each, with no limit. Blizzard has not published that price for the live game, so check it in game. If that price holds, it sets a ceiling on what players can charge for these materials.
| What changed | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Crafting orders | 150 Craftsman's Writs, each asking for a crafted item; reward is set server-side | Live client data, build 1.60.1.70862 |
| New trade materials | 61, e.g. Pitchblende, Bauxite, Pyrite, Heavy Thorium Ore | Live client data |
| Recipe costs | 93 recipes need fewer reagents than in Classic, 10 need more | Live client data |
| Merchant's Favor | Earned by filling Waylaid Crates with profession materials | Beta client data |
| Rare reagents | Black Lotus purchasable in Riverglades; 50g reported in beta | Wowhead database, player reports |
Best money-making professions
Each character gets two primary professions plus Cooking, Fishing and First Aid, per Blizzard's starter guide. Nobody has published Forever profit data yet, so here is what the client data shows. According to our gold changes breakdown, built from the live client and compared with Classic Era, Leatherworking has 277 new recipes, Blacksmithing 197, Tailoring 180 and Engineering 77. Many recipes are cheaper: 93 now need fewer reagents, which lowers the cost of every craft.
The 150 Craftsman's Writs are crafting orders. Each asks you to deliver one crafted item for a reward, and Blizzard sets the reward on the server, so its value is not in the client. Requested items run from Red Woolen Boots and Mageweave Bags to Runecloth Bags and Arcanite Skeleton Keys.
Gatherers get more uses for their materials in Forever. Waylaid Crates are filled with profession materials and handed in for Merchant's Favor at Three Corners (Alliance) or west of the Crossroads (Horde). In the beta, seven vendors at Three Corners sold 289 recipes for Favor, priced from 30 to 360. Gathering professions can also build camp objects. Mining's Rock Garden takes Heavy Stone, Iron Ore and a Silver Bar, and Fishing has a Fish Bowl, Fishing Hut and Fishing Rack. See every Merchant's Favor recipe.
Iron ore, wool cloth and fishing
We have not found a reliable Forever source for specific iron ore routes, wool cloth spots or fishing gold per hour, so we do not list any. Do not assume Classic Era farming advice carries over. Demand in Forever is different: some recipes are cheaper, crafting orders ask for specific items, and Waylaid Crates use up materials. Check your realm's Auction House before you commit to a farm.
Fishing is a secondary profession, so you can take it on top of your two primary professions. Blizzard's October 16 beta notes made sure your own bobber is always targetable. Fishing also gets camp recipes in the live client. One beta player on the official forums said they planned to level fishing on a Steam Deck while working.
AoE farming and the best farming class
Blizzard has not named a best farming class. In Classic, the 2019 world-first 60 was Jokerd's mage AoE build, according to Wowhead. Large pulls are also in use in Forever. Vice reported on November 7 that Team JokerD, mostly Undead characters and one Troll, reached 60 in under three days, using Cannibalize "to stay full of health and mana between massive pulls". Those reports are about leveling, not gold, and no gold-per-hour figures have been published.
Blizzard has also adjusted spawns since launch. Hotfixes slowed the troggs in Grol'bolar Quarry (Dun Morogh) and some murlocs in Dustwallow Marsh because they respawned too quickly. Players have started forum threads complaining about "hyperspawn" AoE farming. On November 6, Kaivax announced tuning for Tuesday, November 10, including making Hunter pets and Warlock Voidwalkers about as durable as in Classic Era. If you plan a pet-class farm, wait for those changes before you judge it.
One more unconfirmed point: in a November 7 forum thread, players say quests no longer give extra gold in place of XP at level 60, which original Classic did. Blizzard has not commented.
Do not buy gold
Blizzard has been clear about this. On September 28, Kaivax wrote that Blizzard will remove illicit gold from buyers and can close their accounts. On October 1 he added that anyone who generates, sells, buys or receives illicit gold faces gold removal, suspension or permanent closure. Wowhead reported on October 8 that more than 2,100 gold-buying accounts had been banned in the beta. Since October 13, a Temporary Economy Hold can block trade, mail, guild banks and the Auction House while Blizzard investigates. We sell WoW Forever gold, but you should know that Blizzard bans gold buyers. Earning gold yourself carries no such risk. Our gold buyer bans report has the full timeline.
