How the routes are built

  • Every recipe’s yellow and grey skill thresholds and reagents come from the beta client.
  • At each skill level the route takes the recipe that still gives skill-ups at the lowest material tier; below yellow a craft always gives a point, in the yellow–green range the expected number of crafts is used.
  • Raid, Blackrock Depths and quest materials are avoided. Recipes taught by a recipe item are used only where the trainer has nothing, and are marked.
  • Trainer learn levels are not in the client data, so recipes are assumed learnable at yellow — the craft counts are on the safe side.

Professions FAQ

How many crafts does it take to reach 300 in a WoW Forever profession?

By our calculation from the beta client, between 432 and 563 crafts, depending on the profession. The figures assume each recipe is learned when it turns yellow, so the real number is usually a little lower.

Are there new recipes in WoW Forever professions?

Yes — 913 recipes in the beta client are not in Classic Era, for example healing potions and tourniquets in First Aid, teas in Cooking, a Camp Tent in Leatherworking and a Reagent Bag in Tailoring.

How were these guides made?

From the beta client (build 1.60.1.70205): every recipe’s skill thresholds and reagents. At each skill level the guide picks the recipe that still gives skill-ups with the cheapest materials, avoiding raid, Blackrock Depths and quest materials. Costs are by material tier, not gold — there is no auction house before launch.
