Four decisions before 4 November: whether you need a pack, which ruleset, what name, and whether your PC is new enough. Everything below is from Blizzard’s own pages.

AccessBlizzard
Included with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time from 4 November, 3:00 p.m. PST, globally. The Skyborne race is not included — it needs the Heroic Pack ($29.99) or higher.
- Step 2
Ruleset, not realmBlizzard
Forever is realmless: you choose Normal, PvP or Roleplaying (Hardcore comes in winter). Each is one large ecosystem; you cannot group across rulesets or factions, and changing ruleset means a new character.

A two-part nameBlizzard
First name plus second name, unique per region. Early reservation runs 27 October to 3 November with any upgrade pack, up to three characters, first come first served.

Check your GPUBlizzard
Forever needs AMD GCN 1 (2012), NVIDIA Maxwell (2014), Intel Skylake (2015) or newer. Older graphics cards are not supported at all.

Blizzard has said it is banning gold buyers as well as sellers in Forever, with gold removal, suspensions and closures, and is adding a trade warning in gameBlue postBlue post. Do I need to buy WoW Forever?
No. The base game is included with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. The Skyborne race needs the Skyborne Heroic Pack ($29.99) or higher; the Epic Pack ($59.99) added beta access and 30 days of Game Time; the Warcraft Forever Collection ($79.99) adds Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign.
Can I play WoW Forever free with a friend’s code?
Yes, briefly. Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes let an invitee play from 4 to 11 November without a subscription. Codes are emailed from 20 October and do not include beta access.
Can Horde and Alliance group in WoW Forever?
No. Factions stay separate, and you cannot group across rulesets either.
Do my collections carry over between rulesets?
Collections and Legacy Points are account-wide across rulesets, except that progress does not flow into Hardcore.
Can I transfer my Classic characters to Forever?
Blizzard has not announced any transfers from Classic Era, Season of Discovery or Anniversary realms. Plan on starting fresh.
Is WoW Forever on console or mobile?
Blizzard has published PC and Mac requirements and added official gamepad support. No console or mobile version has been announced.
Can I turn off transmog and modern visuals?
Yes. Transmog is opt-in, there are modern and Classic visual presets, HD or SD character models, and a Classic Mode launch option that disables transmog automatically.
Will I get banned for buying gold in WoW Forever?
Blizzard has said in blue posts (28 September and 1 October 2026) that it is actioning buyers as well as sellers — gold removal, suspensions and account closures — and is adding an in-game warning about accepting gold from strangers.

Before you buy anything for Forever
Levelling 1–60 takes about 150 hours of play by community estimates, and Blizzard has announced no WoW Token and no paid boost for Forever. These are the prices other sellers are already taking pre-orders at.
