WoW Forever raids
Three raids open together on 9 December 2026: the new Barrow Deeps (10 players, 8 bosses) and Hyjal Summit (20 players, 13 bosses), and Onyxia’s Lair at its original 40. Only Onyxia needs attunement, and all three reset weekly. Two more new raids follow in Spring 2027.

Attunement, entrances and resets

No GDKP
Blizzard said at the 17 September developer Q&A that GDKP raids will not be allowed in ForeverCommunity. In Classic, gold-bid raids were one of the biggest reasons people bought gold; in Forever, gold goes back to mounts, professions and consumables.

When do raids unlock in WoW Forever?
On 9 December 2026, five weeks after launch. Three open at once: Barrow Deeps (10 players), Hyjal Summit (20 players) and Onyxia’s Lair (40 players). All three are planned to reset weekly.
Do WoW Forever raids need attunement?
Only Onyxia’s Lair. Every raider needs the Drakefire Amulet in their bags; the questline starts with “Dragonkin Menace” (Alliance, Burning Steppes) or “Blood and Thunder” (Horde, Badlands) and ends in Upper Blackrock Spire. Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit have no attunement.
Where is the Barrow Deeps raid?
Beneath Kalimdor, in the prison that once held Illidan Stormrage. Blizzard lists entrances through Mount Hyjal, Winterspring and the Blackmaw Hold dungeon in Azshara.
What raid sizes does WoW Forever use?
10, 20 and 40 players. The two new raids are 10- and 20-player; Onyxia’s Lair keeps its 40-player size.
How many bosses are in Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps?
Hyjal Summit has 13 bosses and Barrow Deeps has 8, per Blizzard’s raid overview of 20 October. Onyxia is a single three-phase fight.
Is GDKP allowed in WoW Forever raids?
No. Blizzard said at the 17 September developer Q&A that GDKP raids will not be allowed, as reported by Inven Global.
