WoW Forever levelling
About 150 hours to 60 for a first character — a community estimate. Blizzard says the XP curve is the same as Classic, and has since cut dungeon-quest bonus XP by half. What follows is what actually changed, bracket by bracket.

What Blizzard changed about levelling
Same curve, more questsBlizzardCommunity
More than a thousand new quests across 1–60, but “the experience curve remains the same” (Kris Zierhut). Beta players averaged 20.5 hours to level 20 versus 20.4 in Classic.
Dungeon quests: half the bonus XPBlue post
Since the 1 October beta build, dungeon quests give 50% less experience beyond normal quest values, after feedback that levelling was too fast. The most argued-about change on the forum right now.
Mobs die in 10–15 secondsBlizzard
Blizzard’s stated target for how long an ordinary creature should take to kill solo.
Mounts the Burning Crusade wayBlizzard
The cost moves into riding training and you get a mount with the skill. Even the Skyborne pack mount needs riding bought in game.
Food and campfiresBlizzard
Crafted food gives a small experience bonus as well as stats, and campfire buffs need you to rest at the fire for a moment.
No flying, no scalingBlizzard
Design pillars: levelling is as important as endgame, zones stay at fixed levels, and nothing flies.

Legacy: what makes the second character faster
Legacy is account-wide. Your first point usually comes when a character reaches level 25, and reaching 25, 45 and 60 with each class is worth 27 points on its ownBlizzard. The Adventure tree is the levelling one:
Higher rested XP cap, faster accumulation.
Talent points up to five levels earlier.
Cheaper, faster flight paths.
Shorter cooldown on placing camp features.

Levelling FAQ
How long does it take to reach 60 in WoW Forever?
Around 150 hours for a first character, by community estimates. Blizzard says the experience curve is unchanged from Classic: in the beta, players took 20.5 hours on average to reach level 20, against 20.4 hours in Classic.
Did Blizzard nerf levelling in the WoW Forever beta?
Dungeon quests were changed in the 1 October 2026 beta build: they now give 50% less bonus experience beyond normal quest values, and some quest rewards were recalibrated, after feedback on levelling speed.
At what level do you get a mount in WoW Forever?
Blizzard has said mounts use the Burning Crusade-style model: the up-front cost moves into riding training, and you receive a mount when you learn the skill. The exact level and price have not been published; beta players report level 40.
Does the Legacy system speed up levelling?
Yes, for alts. The Adventure tree includes Well Rested (higher rested XP cap and faster accumulation), Talented (talent points up to five levels earlier) and Frequent Flier (cheaper, faster flights). Legacy points usually start when your first character reaches level 25.
Is there a level boost or level scaling in WoW Forever?
Blizzard has announced neither. Its design pillars are no flying mounts and no level scaling, with levelling “as important as endgame”.
