Kina and Quna
Where money meets power
Kina is earned by playing and spent on the Market. Quna is bought with real money. On the Exchange one player sells Kina and another pays Quna for it; NC itself neither lists nor buys. So NC does not sell power directly, but every Quna has a Kina price set by players, and the more valuable Market gear becomes, the tighter the link between spending and Combat Power. NC
NC also limits Market and Exchange access for accounts its trust system flags, for example for unusual trading or playing from an unsupported region, and it has warned that buying Kina or Quna outside the game breaks its terms. NC NC
Our verdict
Pay to win, by player type
- Casual and solo: fully free. You can reach level 45 and run the current content without paying.
- Endgame PvE: membership pays for itself through extra reward picks and Market access.
- Competitive PvP: spenders gear faster through the Exchange; skill still decides close fights, but gear gaps are real.
The new Expedition Hard mode (2,600 item level) and the Ludra raid (2,800 and 3,000 from 4 November) raise the gear bar again: Aion 2 dungeons. Another way to skip the grind is a geared character: buy an Aion 2 account.
Answers
Aion 2 pay to win FAQ
Is Aion 2 pay to win?
Partly. NC’s shop does not sell gear, but Quna bought with real money can buy Kina from other players on the Exchange, and Kina buys gear on the Market. Money speeds progression a lot; it does not play the character for you.
Is Aion 2 free to play?
Yes. The global version is free on Steam and PURPLE with no purchase required. Membership, the Daeva Pass premium track, Quna and cosmetics are optional.
Do you need membership to play Aion 2?
No, but without it you cannot buy on the Market or use the Kina and Quna Exchange, and you get fewer Odyle Energy picks from reward cubes. Anyone who trades or farms daily ends up buying it.
Is buying Kina from other sites allowed?
No. NC warned on 4 October 2026 that buying Kina or Quna from unauthorised third parties breaks its terms. The in-game Exchange is the allowed route.
