An Apex account is one profile on an EA Account. Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo accounts are linked to it, and the progress follows the EA Account, not the platform.

Cross-progression
What changed in October 2023
- Cross-progression was added for everyone. Players with one Apex account saw no change.
- Players with several Apex accounts on one EA Account had them merged; the profile with the highest level became the cross-progression account, and content from the lower one could be lost.
- Progress spread over several EA Accounts was not merged and cannot be moved between them.
- Unlinking a platform from the EA Account cuts that platform off from the progress until it is linked back; linking it to a different EA Account does not bring the progress along.

How do Apex Legends accounts and cross-progression work?
Apex Legends progress is permanently tied to an EA Account, which holds a single Apex profile. Platform accounts (Steam or the EA app on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2) are linked to it, and since October 2023 cross-progression shares progress and cosmetics across them; some platform-bought content and Coins stay on their platform. Progress cannot be moved to a different EA Account.
Does Apex Legends have cross-progression?
Yes, since October 2023. Every player has it automatically: the Apex profile on your EA Account, with its progress and cosmetics, is shared across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 once each platform account is linked to the EA Account.
Can two Apex accounts be merged?
No. There is one Apex profile per EA Account and EA cannot merge Apex progress from two EA Accounts. When cross-progression launched, several Apex accounts on one EA Account were merged into the one with the highest level.
Do Apex Coins carry over between platforms?
Not always. EA notes that some content and Coins are exclusive to the platform they were bought on, so you might not see them on every device.
