Mobile Legends economy: diamonds, Starlight and draws

Mobile Legends is free to play, and every hero can be earned without paying. Skins are where the money goes: monthly passes, draws with pity counters and limited events. Knowing how each one works is the difference between a planned collection and a wasted top-up.

Updated 30 October 2026 for Season 42, patch 2.2.16a (October 2026).

Heroes are cheap to collect with BP. Diamonds are the only practical route to most premium skins, and every major skin system ties diamonds to a draw or a pass.

The monthly pass

The Starlight membership

Starlight is a monthly pass with a featured Starlight skin, a painted version at a higher pass level and a track of other rewards. As of 2026 the base pass costs 300 diamonds and the Plus version, which skips levels and adds rewards, 750 diamonds. October 2026’s featured hero is Hayabusa; earlier 2026 months included Belerick in July and Zetian in April.

  • Best value in the game for most players. One pass gives an exclusive skin plus tickets, fragments and cosmetics.
  • Buy the base pass, play the levels. Plus only saves time.
  • Starlight skins are Exceptional quality in the Collection system and later appear in rerun shops at higher prices or in draws.

Supreme skins

The Magic Wheel and Legend skins

Legend skins, the Supreme quality tier, come from the Magic Wheel or from limited Legend events. In January 2026 the wheel was revamped as part of Project Reforge, starting with a revamped Saber “Codename: Storm”. The wheel has a pity counter: after a set number of draws the Legend skin is guaranteed. Draw costs and the counter vary by event and region, and published figures differ, so check the event screen before you start.

Exquisite skins

Collector skins and the Exquisite Collection

Collector skins sit in the Exquisite quality tier. They come from the monthly Exquisite Collection draw (formerly the Grand Collection), which was revamped together with the Magic Wheel. Each month features a new Collector skin and sometimes returning ones; the September 2026 draw, for example, featured Argus with returning Collector skins. Older Collector skins return only through reruns.

Collector skins also count heavily towards your collection points, which set the collector title on your profile, from Amateur up to World and Galaxy Collector. See Collector skins.

Practical tips

How to get skins for less

  1. Buy Starlight first. Per diamond it gives more than any draw.
  2. Wait for first-top-up and double-diamond bonuses. Many regions double the first top-up of each tier, and events add bonus diamonds.
  3. Use the weekly diamond pass if your region offers it: a small daily drip of diamonds adds up over a month.
  4. Do every free task. Tickets, fragments and BP from tasks buy heroes and some skins without diamonds.
  5. Plan draws around the pity counter. Save until you can reach the guarantee in one event.
  6. Skip reruns you can wait for. Most collab and premium series return eventually, sometimes with discounts.
  7. Trade fragments for skins you want, not random ones; fragment shops rotate.

Only top up through the official in-game shop or authorised channels for your region. Diamond offers that look too cheap often come from stolen payment methods and can get the account flagged.

Accounts

Or start with a collection

Building a large collection from zero takes years, and some limited skins never come back. If you would rather start with skins and a full roster, METAMMO sells Mobile Legends accounts that we check by hand before listing. Each listing names the skin count, collector title, Legend and collab skins, and rank, and every account comes with a lifetime guarantee against recovery by a previous owner: if that ever happens, we replace the account or refund it. The guarantee does not cover bans. Browse the Mobile Legends accounts, read what sets an account’s value, and see how login and transfer work.

Example

A monthly budget plan

  1. Every month: Starlight base pass if you like the featured skin.
  2. Every week: the free tasks, weekly chests and the weekly diamond pass where available.
  3. Every season: ranked season rewards, which include a skin for reaching the required tier.
  4. Twice a year: save for one big event, a Legend wheel or a collab you really want, and reach its guarantee in one go.

Write down which limited skins you actually want. Most overspending happens on draws for skins the player only half wanted because a countdown was running.

Account security

Keeping your purchases safe

  • Bind a Moonton account with a strong email password. Whoever controls the email controls the account.
  • Keep top-up receipts. If you ever need to recover the account, support asks for top-up receipts and order IDs.
  • Never share your login code. Moonton support never asks for it.
  • Do not use third-party “free diamond” tools. They are scams or lead to bans.

The login and transfer guide explains Moonton bindings and recovery in more detail.

Collection points

How skins add up on the profile

Each skin adds collection points according to its quality, from Painted up to Supreme for Legend skins. The total sets the collector title on the profile, which other players see in matches. That is why long-time players value Legend, Collector and collab skins so highly: they add the most points and many cannot be bought again. See skins for the full quality table.
