Mobile Legends jungle routes and objective timers

The jungler decides the pace of the match: who gets the buffs, who takes the Turtle, when the Lord falls. This guide puts the camps, timers and routes in one place, as of Season 42 (patch 2.2.16a, October 2026).

Updated 30 October 2026 for Season 42, patch 2.2.16a (October 2026).

Camps and objectives

What is in the jungle

Each team’s jungle has two buff monsters and three smaller camps. Between the two jungles runs the river, with the Lithowanderer and the pits where the Turtle and later the Lord spawn. Timings below are as of Season 42 (October 2026) and come from current community references; Moonton does not publish a timer table, and the in-game minimap always shows the next spawn.

Jungle camps and river objectives
CampFirst spawnRespawnReward
Purple buffStart of the matchAbout 90 s after the killCooldown reduction and mana or energy regeneration
Red (orange) buffStart of the matchAbout 90 s after the killBonus damage and a slow on attacks
Small camps (three per side)Start of the matchShortly after the killGold and EXP for the jungler
LithowandererEarly, about 0:45About 2 minA small reward and a short-lived benefit for the team in the river
Turtle2:00About 2 min while it keeps spawningGold and EXP for the whole team
Lord8:00About 3 min, shorter late in the matchPushes a lane for your team and damages turrets

Two details matter. First, the buffs last for a limited time on the hero who has them (around 75 seconds) and can be stolen with a kill. Second, the Turtle stops spawning when the Lord arrives at 8:00, and the Lord evolves late in the match into a stronger version (around 18:00 in current references), which is why late Lords end games.

The jungler’s tools

Retribution and the jungle blessings

Every jungler carries the Retribution battle spell. It deals a large burst of true damage to creeps and minions, increases rewards from jungle creeps and reduces the damage they deal to you. It is also how you secure the last hit on the Turtle and Lord: the team damages the objective, and the jungler uses Retribution to finish it.

The jungler’s boots carry a jungle blessing, which upgrades after a number of creep kills, hero kills and assists:

Jungle blessings
BlessingEffect when used on an enemy heroPicks
Ice RetributionSteals the target’s movement speed for a short timeAssassins that need to stick to a target, fighters
Flame RetributionSteals attack and magic powerBurst assassins and fighters in duels
Bloody RetributionDrains HP based on your max HPTank and fighter junglers who brawl

The first two minutes

Clear routes

The standard opening is a full clear of your own jungle: both buffs and the three small camps, which brings most junglers to level 4 before the Turtle at 2:00. Start on the buff closest to your Gold lane so the marksman can help with the first hits.

Two standard opening routes
RouteOrderBest for
Purple startPurple buff → small camps → Red buff → riverMana or energy heroes: Lancelot, Fanny, Hayabusa
Red startRed buff → small camps → Purple buff → riverAuto-attack and burst heroes: Yi Sun-shin, Helcurt, Karina
  1. Start the first buff with your Gold laner and roamer standing near you.
  2. Clear the three small camps with skills while walking between them; do not stand still.
  3. Take the second buff around level 3 to 4.
  4. Move to the river before 2:00 with your roamer; take the Lithowanderer if it is on the way.
  5. Be at the Turtle pit at 2:00 with your Retribution ready.

Patch 2.2.16 (September 2026) cut the base gold of several small jungle camps by 13% and slightly reduced minion gold growth, so a clean route and early objectives are worth more than before. Fast, efficient junglers reach level 4 well before two minutes.

Minutes 2 to 8

Playing the Turtle

  • Turtle gives gold and EXP to the whole team. The first one matters most, because it decides who is ahead in levels at the start of the mid game.
  • Bring your roamer and mid laner. A two-hero Turtle is risky if the enemy jungler arrives.
  • Use Retribution only for the last hit, when the Turtle is low enough to die in one cast.
  • If you lost lanes, give up the Turtle and take the enemy buff or a turret on the other side instead. Trading objectives is better than losing a fight.

Battlefield variants from the 2026 annual map change (28 September 2026) can change what the Turtle gives. In the Healing Turtle variant, killing it summons an allied Turtle that pushes the enemy’s strongest lane and heals nearby allies, instead of the usual shield.

From minute 8

Playing the Lord

  • The Lord spawns at 8:00. After it is killed it joins the team that killed it and pushes a lane, damaging turrets.
  • Do not start the Lord with the enemy alive and nearby. The enemy can hit you while you hit the Lord, and steal it with Retribution.
  • Take it after a won fight, when two or more enemies are dead.
  • Late Lords end games. After the Lord evolves, a Lord plus a grouped team can push into the enemy base.

Jungle tempo

When to gank instead of farm

A jungler balances three things: farming camps, ganking lanes and taking objectives. A good rule: farm when no lane offers a good gank and no objective is close; gank when a lane is pushed and the enemy has used their escape; always be at the objective when it spawns. The assassin guide has a full gank checklist.

Jungle priorities by time

2:00 to 8:00Buff timers, ganks on pushed lanes, more Turtles

Hero pool

Junglers for Season 42

Assassins dominate the jungle: Hayabusa, Lancelot, Ling, Fanny, Karina, Aamon, Hirara (nerfed in the 2.2.16a hotfix). Fighters and tank-fighters such as Fredrinn and Alucard jungle well, and a few marksmen, such as Yi Sun-shin (nerfed in patch 2.2.16), are played there too. Pick based on the team: if your team lacks a frontline, a tank-fighter jungler covers it.
