Buying a WoW Forever Account: What to Look For

WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026 on entirely fresh realms. That single fact shapes everything about buying an account there, because for the first weeks nobody has anything — and then, quite suddenly, some people do.

This guide covers what makes a Forever account worth its price, what to verify before paying, and where the risk is specific to a brand-new server.

What determines value on Forever

The cap is 60 and Blizzard has said it will stay there. That changes the usual calculation: there is no expansion coming to make your character obsolete, so what you buy is what you keep. Value concentrates in things that take time rather than things that take a patch.

  • Level and played time. Vanilla levelling is slow by design. A 60 represents real hours, and on a fresh server those hours cannot be bought back.
  • Professions. Maxed crafting is often worth more than gear, because gear rotates and a maxed profession does not.
  • Class and specialisation. Decides what you can actually do at 60 and how easily you find groups.
  • Realm and faction. Cannot be changed afterwards, and they decide who you play with. Check this before anything else.
  • Attunements and reputation. Long grinds that gate content, and the most tedious thing to redo.
  • Gold. Straightforward, and worth checking is actually present rather than described.

What to verify before paying

  1. Realm and faction match what you want. No transfers are announced and you cannot undo this.
  2. What else is on the Battle.net account. You are buying the WoW licence; other Blizzard games attached to the same login are only included if the listing says so.
  3. Whether the email can be changed. This is what decides whether the account is genuinely yours afterwards. If the answer is unclear, stop.
  4. Account standing. Any prior suspension travels with the account.
  5. That the description matches the account. Screenshots are easy to borrow from someone else's character.

The risk that is specific to a new server

On a launch server no seller has a history. The usual signal — someone who has sold fifty accounts without a complaint — does not exist yet, because nobody has.

The failure mode to understand is account recovery: the original owner reclaims the account through support after the sale. It is the single most common way an account purchase goes wrong in World of Warcraft, and it is more likely when the seller is unknown and the account is cheap enough that they do not much mind losing the reputation.

Two practical consequences:

  • Cheap accounts fail more often than expensive ones. Across our own WoW sales, accounts under $200 are returned roughly twice as often as accounts in the $400–700 range. The low end is where careless selling concentrates.
  • Escrow and a warranty are not optional on a new server. They are the only protection when reputation does not exist yet.

When accounts will actually be worth buying

Not on 4 November. At launch everyone starts at level 1 and there is nothing to sell. The market appears roughly three to six weeks in, when the gap opens between people who levelled and people who would rather not.

That is also when prices are least settled — supply is thin, nobody knows what a Forever 60 is worth yet, and the same account can list at wildly different prices in the same week. Patience is worth more in that window than speed.

Questions worth asking any seller

  • Which realm and faction, and is it PvP or PvE?
  • Can the email be changed, and will you help do it?
  • What professions are maxed, and what attunements are done?
  • Is anything else attached to this Battle.net account?
  • Has the account ever been suspended?

A seller who answers all five plainly is a different proposition from one who answers none.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy a WoW Forever account?

Not before 4 November 2026. The game launches on fresh realms where nobody has progress, so no levelled accounts exist yet.

What makes a WoW Forever account valuable?

Level and played time, maxed professions, class and specialisation, realm and faction, attunements and reputation, and gold. Because the cap stays at 60, none of it is invalidated by a later patch.

Is it safe to buy a WoW Forever account?

On a launch server no seller has a trading history, so escrow and a warranty are the only real protection. Every METAMMO account is hand-checked and carries a lifetime warranty against recovery by the original owner.

When will WoW Forever accounts be worth buying?

Roughly three to six weeks after launch, once the gap opens between players who levelled and players who would rather not. At launch everyone starts at level 1.

What does the warranty on a WoW Forever account cover?

Recovery. If the previous owner ever takes the account back, you get a full refund or a replacement of equal value, your choice, with no time limit. Confirmed claims are settled within 48 hours. Publisher bans and losses on the buyer's side, such as shared credentials or phishing, are not covered.

How is a WoW Forever account delivered?

A specialist hand-checks the account, then hands over the login details in a private support chat, usually within a few hours and at most 24 hours after payment. If we miss 24 hours you can cancel for a full refund, and before delivery you can cancel for any reason.

Can I change the email on a WoW Forever account?

WoW Forever accounts sign in through a Battle.net account. You receive the logins listed for the account, including the linked email where the listing states it, and support walks you through moving it to your own email and turning on two-factor. Keep the new details private: shared credentials are not covered by the warranty.
