Shaman in WoW Forever

No class deep dive yet — but the beta notes reveal Lava Burst and Riptide, and an end to totem stacking.

No class deep dive yet

Blizzard has published full class overviews for Priest, Warrior, Hunter, Druid, Paladin. Shaman has not had one, and Blizzard says every class will be covered. Until then, the only official Shaman changes are the tuning lines in the beta development notes — listed below with their dates. They show what exists in the beta client, not the whole class.

What applies to every class: talent trees keep their rows, with milestone talents at 11, 16 (new), 21 and 31 points; key buff talents become baseline; hit and crit are merged across spell, melee and ranged.

Shaman changes in the beta notes

From Blizzard’s beta development notes (blue posts, 24 September and 1 October 2026). Beta values change before launch.

  • Lava Burst icon

Present in the beta: ranks 1 and 2 now deal about 10% more base damage than the Lightning Bolt rank learned at the same level.

  • Riptide icon

Present in the beta; fixed so it can critically heal.

  • Totem stacking icon
    ChangedTotem stackingbeta notes 24.09

Tranquil Air, Windfury and Grace of Air Totems no longer stack, even from different Shamans in the group. Flametongue Totem no longer stacks with itself, with Flametongue Weapon or with Windfury Totem, and has no duration.

  • Lightning Bolt icon
    ChangedLightning Boltbeta notes 24.09

Ranks 3 and 4 hit harder so every rank is an upgrade despite changed cast times.

  • Totemic Recall icon
    ChangedTotemic Recallbeta notes 01.10

    Now restores mana as intended.

  • Elemental Fury and Elemental Alacrity icon
ChangedElemental Fury and Elemental AlacrityElementalbeta notes 24.09

Swapped rows (3 and 6) so Elemental gets a meaningful talent early while levelling.

  • ChangedRage of the Far SeerEnhancementbeta notes 24.09

Row 7 talent no longer adds spell casting speed; Blizzard says it will add more to Enhancement later.

Levelling a Shaman to 60

About 150 hours of play for a first character by community estimates, and Blizzard has announced no WoW Token or paid boost for Forever. If the Shaman changes above are why you are rolling one, this is what skipping the climb costs on the pre-order market.

Market prices: pre-order listings on lfcarry.com, wowvendor.com, skycoach.gg, kingboost.net and others, checked 2 October 2026. Our own rates go up when realms open — no one can deliver Forever gold before 4 November.
