Beta realms go down more often than live ones, and Blizzard announces the windows in Pacific time. Between those two facts sits most of the confusion: half the players asking whether servers are down are actually looking at a scheduled maintenance window that ended hours ago in their own timezone.
How do I check if WoW Forever servers are down?
In order of reliability:
- Blizzard's own realm status page is the only authoritative source. Everything else is a mirror of it or a guess.
- The Forever beta forums carry blue posts when something unplanned breaks, usually faster than the status page updates.
- Third-party trackers are useful for one thing only: telling you whether other people are reporting the same problem at the same minute. They do not know anything Blizzard has not published.
If the realm list loads and your realm shows as up, the problem is on your side — and the error code tells you which.
What does error BLZ51901016 mean?
BLZ51901016 is a disconnect, most often while the client is retrieving the realm list. It is a connection-layer error, not an account problem: nothing is wrong with your licence or your characters.
The usual causes, roughly in order of how often they turn out to be the culprit:
- A genuine server-side interruption — check realm status first, because everything below is wasted effort if the realm is down.
- Stale DNS or a router that has been up too long. Resetting network hardware fixes this more often than anything else on the list.
- Addons or a corrupted interface cache. Disable addons wholesale before debugging them one at a time.
- Background software holding the connection — VPNs and download clients especially.
On a beta client specifically, add one more: the build itself is unfinished, and a disconnect during a hotfix window is not a fault you can fix locally.
When does WoW Forever maintenance end in my timezone?
Blizzard publishes maintenance in PDT (Pacific Daylight Time, UTC−7). To convert, add:
- UTC — add 7 hours
- CEST (central Europe, summer) — add 9 hours
- BST (UK, summer) — add 8 hours
- MSK (Moscow) — add 10 hours
- AEST (eastern Australia) — add 17 hours
So a window announced as 7:00 a.m. PDT ends at 14:00 UTC, 16:00 in central Europe, 17:00 in Moscow. Note that the Americas leave daylight saving in early November, days after Forever launches — once that happens Pacific time is UTC−8 and every offset above shifts by an hour.
Why does the beta go down so often?
Because that is what a beta is for. Builds are pushed mid-week, hotfixes land without notice, and realms restart to pick them up. The Forever beta runs from 17 September to 22 October 2026; expect the cadence to settle only after launch on 4 November.
Character wipes are a separate matter from downtime — a realm being unavailable does not mean progress was reset, and Blizzard announces wipes in advance rather than performing them silently.
Where do I find Forever patch notes?
Beta patch notes are posted to the official Forever news feed and mirrored in the beta forums. Blue posts — replies from Blizzard staff in forum threads — often carry detail that never reaches the formal notes, which is why trackers that collect them exist at all.
Does downtime affect a levelled account or gold delivery?
Only in timing. Nothing is lost when a realm restarts; a delivery scheduled during a maintenance window simply happens after it. If you have an order with us that lands on a downtime, it waits rather than failing — and the warranty clock does not run while you cannot log in.
