Leveling · Retribution · 12/8/31
Retribution leveling
A solo questing build for a Paladin with a two-handed weapon. You keep a Seal up, Judge on cooldown and lean on Holy Strike, Exorcism and Hammer of Wrath, with talents that cut mana costs so you drink less between pulls.
- Divine Strength and Improved Seals first: Strength and more Seal and Judgement damage pay off from the first points at level 10.
- Holy Conduit and Benediction lower the cost of Exorcism, Hammer of Wrath and your instant abilities, and Sanctified Judgement returns mana from each Judgement, which keeps downtime short.
- Pursuit of Justice raises movement and mounted speed, useful on every quest run.
- Purifying Power cuts the cooldown of Exorcism and Holy Wrath, strong against the many Undead and Demon quest mobs.
- Seal of Command, Sacred Arbiter, Vengeance and finally Twist of Light at 31 points make up the same core as the level-60 Retribution build.
Suggested order: Holy Divine Strength and Improved Seals, then Retribution down to Twist of Light; Precision in Protection goes last.
Raid DPS · Retribution · 10/8/33
Retribution raid DPS (Twist of Light)
The two-handed melee build for raids and dungeons at level 60. Twist of Light replaces old seal twisting: swapping one Seal for another gives you an Echo, so your next swing also applies the replaced Seal.
- Twist of Light (31 points) is the defining talent: it lowers Seal costs and turns Seal swaps into an extra Seal effect on the next melee attack.
- Sacred Arbiter (16 points) makes Holy Strike hit harder and refresh all Judgement effects on the target, including those from other Paladins.
- Vengeance (needs Sanctified Judgement 3/3) raises Physical and Holy damage for 30 sec after a non-periodic crit, with Conviction adding melee crit.
- Instrument of Law makes Hammer of Wrath faster to cast and lowers your threat while Righteous Fury is off.
- Precision from Protection adds hit chance; Divine Strength and Improved Seals are the Holy filler.
Champion of the Light and Repentance are swap options for the last points; Blizzard notes Champion of the Light was cut back during beta.
Tank · Protection · 0/43/8
Protection tank
A shield tank for dungeons and raids. You hold threat with Seal of Fury, Judgement and Holy Strike, block with Holy Shield, and use Templar's Bulwark as a large emergency absorb.
- Templar's Bulwark (21 points) gives an absorb equal to your maximum health for 8 sec, and Holy Shield at 31 points requires it.
- Iron Creed raises Holy Strike threat and, with Righteous Fury on, makes Holy Strike reduce damage taken for 6 sec.
- Redoubt and Shield Specialization raise block chance and return mana on blocks, and Reckoning can give extra attacks after blocks.
- Improved Seal of Fury and Swift Judgement help with mana and a fast second Judgement taunt, which Blizzard says reaches 10 yards.
- Deflection in Retribution adds Parry; Improved Righteous Fury and Sacred Duty add flat damage reduction and Stamina.
Some block and Reckoning values are not in the client data yet, so treat the Reckoning and Anticipation points as adjustable.
Healer · Holy · 34/12/5
Holy raid and dungeon healer
A single-target healer build for raids and dungeons. You heal with Holy Light and Flash of Light, use Holy Shock for instant heals, and set up Light's Vigil before damage so the next Holy Shock also heals the target's party.
- Holy Shock (21 points) and Light's Vigil (31 points) are the core: Light's Vigil lets the next Holy Shock on that target skip its cooldown and heal their whole party.
- Illumination (needs Reverence) returns mana on critical heals, and Holy Power, Divine Favor and Infusion of Light all feed off crits, so they work as one package.
- Reverence lets part of your mana regeneration continue while casting, and Divine Intellect raises total Intellect.
- Voice of Truth gives a short window of immunity to Silence and interrupts for heals you must land.
- Benediction cheapens instant spells such as Holy Shock and Cleanse, while Sacred Duty and Guardian's Favor give shorter Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection cooldowns.
The 12 Protection points are flexible; one point in Divine Precision only matters if you use Light's Vigil offensively.
How these builds are made
We start from the builds Classic players know for each role, then rebuild them on the Forever trees from the launch client (build 1.60.1.70707), where many talents were renamed, moved or changed. Every build is checked for the Classic rules: 51 points, 5 points per row, prerequisites. They are starting points, not tested rankings; adjust them to your gear and group.Answers
Paladin builds FAQ
What is a good Paladin leveling build in WoW Forever?
Retribution leveling (12/8/31). A solo questing build for a Paladin with a two-handed weapon. You keep a Seal up, Judge on cooldown and lean on Holy Strike, Exorcism and Hammer of Wrath, with talents that cut mana costs so you drink less between pulls.
What Paladin builds are there for level 60?
Retribution raid DPS (Twist of Light) (10/8/33); Protection tank (0/43/8); Holy raid and dungeon healer (34/12/5). Each one opens in our talent calculator.
Are these Paladin builds final?
They are built on the WoW Forever launch client, build 1.60.1.70707, and follow the class changes Blizzard published. Blizzard can still hotfix talents after launch; we update the builds when it does.
Can I use two Paladin builds?
Yes. Forever has dual spec from launch, so you can keep a leveling or PvP build next to a raid build.
